Old City- Step 1: The Royal Gate & Maiden Tower Mysteries

Start at Gosha Gala Gapisi (Double Gates): Enter the walled city as travelers and invaders once did. Here, you'll get a brief introduction to the city's layers of history—from the Zoroastrians and Shirvanshahs to the oil barons.

Old city - Step2 : Head straight to the Maiden Tower

Head straight to the Maiden Tower: Begin with this iconic, enigmatic symbol of Baku. We'll circle its base, discussing the many legends of its purpose—from a Zoroastrian temple and a watchtower to a medieval observatory. The mystery sets the tone for the entire tour.

Old city - Step 3: The Palace of the Shirvanshahs

Walk up the ancient street to the palace complex. This 15th-century masterpiece is the apex of Old Baku's architectural glory.

Explore the Divankhana (Court), the Shah's Mosque, and the Mausoleum. We'll decipher the intricate stone carvings and imagine life in the royal court. Don't miss the ancient "whispering" arch in the mausoleum—a perfect photo and audio op!

This tour involves a significant amount of walking, mostly on uneven, ancient cobblestone streets. Comfortable, sturdy shoes are essential.

The Baku sun can be intense. We highly recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself.

To ensure a personalized experience, this is a small-group tour. Please book in advance to secure your spot.

While the main squares are accessible, many narrower alleys and historical buildings have steps and are not wheelchair or stroller-friendly.
