No visit to Belgium is complete without trying the beers. There is no other country in the world with a beer culture like Belgium. The tradition, the diversity and of course the quality of our beers are so exceptional that UNESCO even declared it UNESCO World Heritage.
During this tour you will not only taste six local beers (all from Antwerp!) at six beautiful, authentic locations, but you’ll also learn all about our belgian beer culture.
Join us and experience Belgian beer as a local!

Meeting Point
Beer shop Abbey n°8 in front of the cathedral.
Antwerp Cathedral
Our first beer is just outside the Antwerp cathedral. Here we'll taste a local "Champagne" beer.
Bar 1
In the oldest bar in the city (from 1565!) we will try the Antwerp city beer: the Bolleke
Bar 2
Our second bar is located in the student district. Here we'll try a historic local beer that completely disappeared for about 80 years and then resurfaced.
Bar 3
Our first bar is a cross-over between a Belgian beer bar and an Irish Pub. Here we'll try a real trappist beer.
Our final bar
This just might be the most authentic Belgian beer bar in Antwerp. Hidden away where only the locals find it. Here we will try a local tripel. The tripel is the most popular beer style in Belgium.
Ending Point
Bar 'De Ware Jacob' in the old city center. Just 3 minutes from the starting point.

Guide fee and all beer
No snacks are included but can be purchased at own expense.
All the beers are served in small glasses of 15cl. These tasting-sizes allow us to taste more without getting too drunk.
The itinerary described above is subject to availability. If a bar is full or closed we will look for an alternative.
Children are allowed but the legal drinking age in Belgium is 16. Sodas are available for those under 16.
Please keep in mind that the entire tour is about beer and tailored towards adults, so it might not be very interesting for children.
I've been working as a full-time guide in Antwerp for 8 years. I am a licensed tour guide and certified Belgian beer expert. I am also a resident guide at the Breendonk National memorial, the Ruien (Antwerp underground tours) and 4 breweries across the country.
I would like to join because tour guiding is my job and love my job :-).
