This tram is nicknamed Chin-chin train, in which chin-chin is onomatopoeia equal to ding-ding in English. In fact, just before it leaves each stop, a bell is rung two times chin-chin or ding-ding. That sounds have a sense of nostalgia. There remains only one line where such trams are operated in Tokyo. Its line is named Toden Arakawa Line which connects Minowabashi in Arakawa ward and Waseda in Shinjuku ward. The distance between these two stops is about 12 kilometers. The whole trip takes about one hour. On the way, you feel the atmosphere of old common people neighborhood and there are many interesting places. If you are interested in a trip by chin-chin train, I would like to make an itinerary for you. Why don't you join me?
