Maid Café
One thing the Akihabara area of Tokyo is famous for are its many maid cafes. Maid cafes are like normal cafes, you can order drinks and food and there is airco and a bathroom. But that is kind of where the similarity ends. You are greeted with a “hello master, welcome back! (or mistress for women)”, and a waitress (often in a French maid costume, but it depends on the café) will guide you to your seat. Any order on the menu is cuter than the next, it’s rather like you’ve entered your little sister’s room on acid. The maids serve you your drinks and food, but you can also play games with them (for a fee, all innocent games), or take a picture with them (also for a fee). It’s completely crazy, but when you visit Japan this surely should be on your to-do list!
