The grand stair
In 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake hit Yokohama and sorrounding areas including Tokyo. 80% buildings in Yokohama collapsed in the earthquake. After that, Yokohama had to reconstruct a hotel mainly for foreign visitors especially because it relied on trade with other countries. That's why a new hotel named Hotel New Grand opened in 1927. Since then, many celebrities from overseas have stayed at the hotel. A visit to this hotel is interesting and there are many stories about it.
