Angkor Wat temple

Welcome to the crown jewel of the Khmer Empire! With your guide, you are thrilled to walk you through Angkor Wat, a breathtaking masterpiece of 12th-century engineering built by King Suryavarman II. Originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu, it stands today as the world's largest religious structure. As you cross the vast sandstone causeway over the massive moat, notice how the temple's five lotus-like central towers perfectly mimic Mount Meru, the sacred home of the gods in cosmic mythology. Inside the outer galleries, look closely at the walls—they are covered in incredibly detailed bas-reliefs (shallow stone carvings). The absolute highlight here is the famous "Churning of the Ocean of Milk," a stunning panel where gods and demons pull a giant serpent to unlock the elixir of immortality. As you climb higher into the central sanctuary, known as the Bakan, look out for the elegant Devatas (sacred female deities) carved into the pillars, each wearing unique hairstyles and jewelry. This grand complex isn't just an ancient ruin; it is a profound testament to artistic genius, sacred mathematics, and deep spiritual devotion that continues to captivate everyone who visits.

10:00 AM

Bayon temple

Welcome to Bayon Temple, the captivating heart of the ancient city of Angkor Thom! Built in the late 12th century by Cambodia's most celebrated Mahayana Buddhist king, Jayavarman VII, this temple stands as a striking contrast to the classical symmetry of Angkor Wat. With your guide, wherever you stand, you are surrounded by over 200 massive, smiling stone faces carved directly into the 54 gothic towers. These serene faces, widely believed to represent the heavy-lidded gaze of Avalokiteshvara (the Buddha of compassion) combined with the king's own likeness, exude a quiet, mysterious calm that seems to watch your every move. But Bayon's wonder isn't just in the sky. As we walk along the outer galleries, take a close look at the detailed bas-reliefs stretching across the lower stone walls. While other temples focus mostly on grand epic myths and deities, Bayon gives us an invaluable window into 12th-century Cambodian life. You can spot vivid scenes of a bustling marketplace, fishermen on the Tonle Sap lake, cockfights, childbirth, and Khmer soldiers marching into battle alongside Cham rivals. Navigating through its narrow, maze-like corridors, dark chambers, and steep stone steps feels like stepping directly into a living history book. It is a deeply spiritual place where architectural genius meets the wonderful chaos of ancient everyday life, leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone who explores it.

11:30 AM

Ta Prohm temple

Welcome to Ta Prohm, the incredibly atmospheric "Tomb Raider" temple where the raw power of nature completely takes center stage! Consecrated in 1186 by King Jayavarman VII as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university, this sacred site was dedicated to the king's mother. Unlike Angkor Wat or Bayon, which were carefully cleared and restored, early archaeologists intentionally left Ta Prohm largely untouched. As we wander through its crumbling corridors and moss-covered courtyards, you will see exactly why: the temple is locked in a stunning, slow-motion embrace with the surrounding jungle. Massive, muscular roots of silk-cotton and strangler fig trees cascade over the ancient galleries, snaking along the floors and splitting heavy sandstone blocks apart with unbelievable strength. This surreal landscape creates a profound sense of romance and mystery, highlighting a timeless tug-of-war between human achievement and the unstoppable reclamation of the forest. Beyond the famous cinematic backdrops made popular by Hollywood, keep an eye out for hidden treasures as we explore. Look closely at the roots near the central sanctuaries, and you will be pointed out a beautifully preserved Devata (sacred female deity) peeking out from a tiny gap where the bark has grown completely around her face. Walking through these shaded, winding paths feels less like visiting a historic monument and more like discovering a secret, forgotten world right in the

Authentic floating village of Kampong Phluk

Welcome to Kampong Phluk, an extraordinarily vibrant and resilient community that offers an authentic window into life on the great Tonle Sap Lake! Unlike standard tourist stops, this is a traditional, working Khmer commune made up of three distinct villages built entirely over a floodplain. With your guide, the first thing you are pointed out is the jaw-dropping architecture: rows of wooden houses perched atop towering, slender stilts that soar up to 10 meters into the air. This design is a brilliant adaptation to Cambodia's dramatic seasonal water shifts. During the dry season, these massive stilts are completely exposed, making the village look like it is standing on stilts high above dry land. But during the wet season, the lake expands massively, flooding the area so that the water rises nearly to the floorboards, instantly transforming the community into a bustling, floating town where locals travel solely by boat to get to school, church, and the local market. Your tour takes you deep into this water-based way of life as we cruise down the main river, passing fishermen repairing their nets and children waving from floating porches. The absolute highlight of your visit is trading our motorized boat for a small, hand-paddled wooden canoe to venture into the flooded mangrove forest. Drifting quietly beneath the canopy of water-logged trees is a deeply peaceful, magical experience that beautifully showcases the harmony between the local people and this unique ecosystem.

Wonderful tour around Siem Reap

Saroun was an excellent guide for our 2 days touring Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. He accommodated all of our requests and balanced the needs of our diverse group. The van was comfortable, with excellent AC. After each temple, we’d return to cold water and fresh cold face-cloths. Saroun spoke excellent English and animated the history, religion, politics and architecture of the sites. Each temple came alive with his guidance. We absolutely loved our time in Cambodia. Plus he takes excellent photos with his advanced phone and knows where to get the best shots! I highly recommend you engage his services for the best time.

I would like to express my gratitude to your review on my touring job in Angkor World Heritage Site. Wish you all the best!

Brilliant!

Saroun is a lovely gentleman and fantastic guide. He delivers the tour in an engaging way by using conversation as the way to communicate. Saroun has extensive knowledge of the Angkor Wat national park and Cambodia. He details the importance of Cambodia's historical events. The driver that works with Saroun is very courteous and kept the vehicle in immaculate condition considering we had a lot of rain on our tour, not to mention the cold towels and water to refresh you. If you are looking for any tour in Cambodia that Saroun offers, he is your guide! You don't need to look anywhere else, just book with Saroun!
