The Angkor Wat Small Circuit tour starts very early in the morning. You’ll be picked up before sunrise around 4:30am – 5:00am and you’ll spend the whole day exploring the temples before stopping to see the sunset at Srah Srang around 6:00pm – 6:30pm. It’s a long day, but it we’ll explore the temples at a leisurely pace, stop for lunch and other breaks when required. After the conclusion of the tour, we’ll drop you back to your hotel.

At your hotel
You’ll be picked up before sunrise around 4:30am – 5:00am head out to visit Angkor Wat, we normally spend there around two to three hours; walk from the west entrance and enjoy waiting for sunrise time to come over one of the world listed heritage sites and then we will walk through the whole temple from ground floor to the third floor. You will experience the amazing landscape view surrounding the temple from the third floor.
After the sunrise and exploring Angkor Wat, we’ll stop for breakfast break at one of our preferred local restaurants located in front of the temple and then continue to the ancient city of Angkor Thom.

After breakfast, we’ll enter via the “South Gate of Angkor Thom” on a long causeway which is flanked by a row of 54 mythical beings which are said to guard the city from bad spirits. We will spend around three to four hours to visit all the main temples in the Angkor Thom city. First on the list is a visit to Bayon temple which is located exactly in the centre of Angkor Thom. The hundreds of giant stone faces will look down on you throughout the temple and are some of the most recognized and photogenic spots in the city.
Then, move on to visit a mid-11th century temple, Baphuon is a beautiful temple at Angkor Thom. Its name means a hidden temple. It has three tiers, built in a shape of pyramid.
We’ll then finally head over to the Terrace of the Elephant and the Terrace of the Leper King before taking lunch break.
You have the option to eat lunch in a local restaurant nearby the temples or we can head back to your hotel to eat lunch and relax by the pool side.
After lunch, we'll then head out gain to visit Srah Srang which is a large man made lake known as the “Royal Bath”. We'll spend there around half an hour, then move to Banteay Kdei temple which is a large unrestored complex in a similar style to Ta Prohm. We enter this temple on foot from the east through to the west gate around one hour.
We then move on to see the “Tomb Raider” temple which is called Ta Prohm. It’s one of the most popular temples because of its unique appearance. The jungle is literally growing right through the temple. We'll spend there around one hour and half walk through from the east to the west entrance of the temple.
After Ta Prohm, we'll rush to catch final sunset view on top of Phnom Bakheng. Here, we’ll leisurely walk to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset and it's surrounding landscape area. If you are lucky, the weather is cleared enough, from there you will have chance to see the amazing view of Angkor Wat towers as well as West Baray. We'll spend there around one hour before heading back into town.

This tour is designed for travelers who has only one-day trip and wish to see all most tourist attractive places including amazing sunrise at one of the world heritage site; Angkor Wat, South gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon temple; centrally located in the heart of Angkor Thom, and some other main temples located nearby such as Baphuon, Terrace of Elephant and Leper King. After lunch, you will visit Ta Prohm temple, Banteay Kdei and finally catch final sunset over Srah Srang before return back to town.
Please be informed that;
- You must wear clothes which cover your shoulders and knees.
- The third level tower at Angkor Wat is closed during Buddhist holidays.
- Comfortable shoes are recommended. We also recommend that you take an umbrella or raincoat during the rainy season – May to October.
