The market of Puerto Montt is one of the most interesting of the country. It shows you how rich in seafood products this part of the Pacific Ocean is. Going in a Saturday or Sunday morning gives you a fully colorful view of the locals, that are coming from the islands around the town to sell their own local products. Flowers, plants, chickens, ducks, as well as self-made local products. A must! if you enjoy markets.

Local little handcraft stores
We will visit the local little handcraft stores all along this avenue until we will arrive to the Melipulli market. In our way I will tell you how and why Puerto Montt exists and explain you the story of this town. In our way we will see the market and port neighborhood
Fish and seafood market
finally arrive to the fish and seafood market. I will explain all the products and show you and taste the traditional local food. There are little colorful boats around and sea lions waiting for food, having a sunbath. The locals from other Islands are coming to sell potatoes, fat from the pigs that is used for cooking, seaweeds, smoke seafood, and lots of exotic products. The local market also offers you fresh fish, and an immense variety of sea food of its generous sea. You will be delightful with this market!

At the end of the tour I will take you in a local taxi that will take us to the bus station ( so you can go back to Puerto Varas, If you are lodging there)

I'm an Argentinean with French roots. Have been Chilean residence in the south of Chile for 30 years. I had worked as a tour lider guide taking groups to the north of Chile, South of Bolivia and Peru as well as Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia in the south. I also worked with cultural tours in the Island of Chiloe. Have been guiding cruise ships land excursions from Puerto Montt and Chiloe. I organized and designed trekking and horse riding programs in patagonia and North patagonia too.
