Meeting Point
Lontananza 518, Las Condes
- The motorbike we´ll be ready to start our trip, you just need to load it with your stuff and have brief safety meeting to ensure a good communication with me.
Puerto Varas
A long ride to closer to the start point of the Carretera Austral and have a rest in a beautiful city by the Llanquihue lake and view to Osorno vulcano.
Hornopirén
We´ll take twice a ferry to reach Caleta Gonzalo. Then we´ll head south to Chaiten.
In the 4 hours navigation is easy to see patagonian fauna such as dolphins and sea lions.
Puerto Cisnes
A small town by the sea, the forest and Cisnes river. It would be hard to believe you´re not in the prehistoric era watching huge primitive plant sleeves and monstrous ferns.
Villa Mañihuales
By the Carretera Austral, Villa Mañihuales is a rural town where you can experience the "gaucho" way of life. Is close to main National Reserves Aysen en Tananda.
Puerto Río Tranquilo
After having rest in Mañihuales, you´re going to experience the Queulat slope, a long, windy slope with gravel road, maybe one of the ardest parts of the route.
Today´s destiny is Puerto Tranquilo, a small town by the General Carrera lake, the biggest lake in Chile and the only one shared witrh Argentina.
Villa O´Higgins
The end point of the Carretera Austral. After riding the hardest part of the Carretera Austral and taking another short ferry, you may say you rode one the most beautiful roads of the world.
Time to celebrate and take the obligatory photos to prove you really did it.
Puerto Guadal
Today we keep riding on the gravel in our back trip. Now we´ll take the south shore of General Carrera lake and rest in Puerto Guadal, where the Arisca beer is brewed. Patagonia is full of crafty breweries, but Arisca may be the best of them.
Cozy people and wonderful meals will make you fall in love with this stopped in time town.
Coyhaique
The ride will take us to Chile Chico and then we´ll cross by ferry to Puerto Ibañez. You will be amazed by the turquoise color of its waters.
Puyuhuapi
After a long but smooth ride, again over pavement, you may take a restorative bath in the thermal sources.
The view over the calm water estuary is gorgeous.
Futaleufú
In the way to Futaleufú we´ll sorround the Yelcho lake. The Futaleufú river is known worldwide for its rapids, and rafting is the main attraction.
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina
The Futaleufú border crossing through the Andes is an unforgettable ride. Mountains, lakes and forests all around.
After the border, the ride will be a little harder because of the side winds, common of the Argentine Patagonian roads.
Puerto Varas
After a walkthrough Bariloche´s downtown and main square, we´ll head to Villa la Angostura sorrounding the Nahuelhuapi lake.
We will say goodbye to Argentina to cross through Cardenal Samoré and return to Puerto Varas to spend the last night and have a well-deserved rest.
Ending Point
Puerto Varas, near PMC Airport
