Nanjing has played an important role in Chinese history for centuries. On this tour, we’ll explore its historic sites, taste local food, walk through old neighborhoods, and experience everyday life in modern Nanjing.

Meeting Point
Xuanwu Lake
- Start the day at Xuanwu Lake, one of Nanjing’s most popular places for local residents to walk, exercise, and relax. Take a short morning walk while learning about Nanjing’s history and the role the lake has played in the city.
Ming City Wall
Walk along Nanjing’s Ming City Wall, built in the 14th century. The wall is one of the best-preserved sections of the Ming Dynasty city fortifications in China.
From the top, enjoy panoramic views over Xuanwu Lake and the modern city of Nanjing.
Local Lunch
Take a break and enjoy some authentic Nanjing food.
Ganshi Residence & Nanjing Folk Museum
Step inside the Gan Family Compound and experience the daily life of a traditional Nanjing household. This historic complex of residences now houses the Nanjing Folk Customs Museum.
Here, you can stroll through the traditional courtyards, admire the architectural style, examine everyday household items, and learn about Nanjing’s local customs, crafts, festivals and family life.
Qinhuai River and Confucius Temple area
Walk around the Qinhuai River and Confucius Temple area. See the historic buildings illuminated at night and experience one of Nanjing’s best-known evening neighborhoods.
End the day around 6:00pm. You can continue exploring or have dinner here after the tour.
