Indigenous communities, artisans and nature in Ecuador
This is not only a tour, this is a live experiences, We will go to the north of Quito, where a large indigenous commuties is, we will be able to share time with an indigenous family, learning some of their traditions, culture and customs, also we will see how people made different type of handicrafts, besides of it you will enjoy the delicious food in the Andes. During this time we will go to visit volcanoes, lakes, and also we can hike in some areas. You can not miss this tour.

Leave Quito to the North of Ecuador

We will visit a small roses farm, the family is going to show a small green house were they farm different type of roses
San Pablo
We will visit an artisan who work with totora (type of grass), and we will learn how to made some handicrafts using this material
San Clemente
We will have a lunch in an excellent indigenous restaurant, you will try different dishes with organic products that grow in the Andes, please you have to advise me if you have any problem with any product like milk, peanuts, etc, or if you are vegetarian or vegan.

We will go to meet the indigenous family who will be our guest that nigth and after they will take us to go to walk showing us the different type of medicinal plants that they use frecuently. we will stay that night with the family and know some of their customs

we will help to prepare the breakfast to the family (this is optional), we will go to walk around the area close to Imbabura volcano
Caranqui
We will go to try the traditional and delicious ice cream in an small town.
Cuicocha
We will visit a lake in a volcano crater, it is possible to hike there or take a small boat to go around.
Cotacachi
We will visit Cotacachi "leader town" were you can see and buy many different thinks made in leader with really good quality.

We will have a lunch in a traditional restaurant, we will have some choices of food.
Peguche
We will visit a musician house, were we can see the different andean instruments and know how they made them.

We will visit a gallery were they show us how people coloring the wool and prepare the material to made the textils like blankets, scarves, globes and more.
Otavalo
We will visit the Otavalo market, consider the bigger indigenous market in South America.

Otavalo Market, Cotacachi and Peguche Waterfall Private Tour
“Great day out with Eliza”
Eliza gave us a great day out while we were in Quito. She picked us up from our hotel (she had a driver for the day) and talked to us on our way to Otavalo, telling us a lot of interesting information about Ecuador and Quito. She came round the market with us in Otavalo and gave some very helpful advice. We went for a short walk and to visit a gallery where we were shown how the indigenous people make their beautiful clothes and artworks. We had lunch together and were finally back at our hotel about 5.45. Eliza went out of her way to help us find a particular item, stopping at a supermarket especially. Altogether a great day out. Do not hesitate to use Eliza as your guide.
“Great overview!”
We got to spend a wonderful few hours getting an overview of the old town and seeing many interesting viewpoints. We were lucky to have a nice clear night and had great panoramas of the city. Eliza gave us great and interesting information throughout and really catered to what we wanted. It was a great tour!
“Amazing time!”
We visited a hummingbird cafe about an hour and 15 min away from downtown Quito. It was an amazing experience. The hummingbirds would land in your hands and eat! The cafe also had great empanadas. We spent about an hour there and then moved on to the cable car. Along the way Eliza was great about passing along interesting details and answering any questions that we had. The view from the top of the cable car was incredible. Overall, it was a wonderful day with Eliza!
