Mindo
Arrival in Mindo. You’ll immediately feel the fresh, humid air of the cloud forest.
Tarabita Cable Car & Waterfall Hike
Fly over a lush green valley on an old-fashioned cable car, then hike to beautiful waterfalls. (Swimming is allowed if you want!)
Lunch in Mindo town
Typical lunch: trout, ceviche, or a good vegetarian option
Birdwatching & Hummingbird Sanctuary
Visit a reserve to spot colorful birds like toucans, motmots, tanagers, and dozens of hummingbirds up close
Chocolate Tour
Tour a small organic chocolate factory and learn how cacao becomes delicious chocolate. Includes a tasting (and yes, hot chocolate too!).
Departure from Mindo
Tired but happy, you hop back in the van. – Return to Quito Back at your hotel, probably with a bag full of chocolate and hundreds of hummingbird photos.

Mindo Cloud Forest
We’ll cross from the Southern to the Northern Hemisphere, descending from 3000m to 1300m in the Andes to reach Mindo. First, we’ll visit Alambi to see hummingbirds, tanagers, and toucans. Then, we’ll take the tarabita (cable car) to explore waterfalls and the butterfly garden. Afterward, we’ll head back to Mindo for a chocolate tour, and if you're hungry, lunch is available in town.
