Day 1: Fly to Semera to Erta Ale
• Morning (7:30 AM): Depart from Semera after breakfast and drive towards Erta Ale, one of the world's most active volcanoes.
• Midday: Pause for lunch along the way, continuing through the stark desert landscape of the Afar region.
• Evening (5:00 PM): Arrive at Erta Ale's base camp. After an early snacks, begin a 1-hour trek to the volcano's rim.
Night (6:30 PM) having a Dinner and Witness the stunning active lava lake and spend the night camping atop the mountain, where the fiery glow of the volcano creates an unforgettable experience
Day 2: Journey from Erta Ale to Hamed Ela
Early Morning (6:00 AM): Begin your day with a descent from the majestic Erta Ale volcano, taking in the last glimpses of this unique volcanic landscape. Once back at the base camp, enjoy a hearty breakfast at 8:00 AM to recharge for the journey ahead.
Midday: Depart for Hamed Ela, a small and traditional Afar village that serves as a gateway to the salt plains of the Danakil Depression. Along the way, stop to enjoy lunch amidst the stunning, rugged terrain of the region.
Afternoon (4:00 PM): Experience the timeless tradition of salt harvesting on the vast salt flats near Hamed Ela. Watch as locals, using age-old techniques, extract and cut salt blocks from the earth – a livelihood that has been passed down through generations.
Evening (6:00 PM): Return to Hamed Ela as the day winds down. Enjoy a simple yet satisfying dinner at the campsite. Spend the night in basic accommodations, immersing yourself in the unique atmosphere of this remote and fascinating region.
Day 3: Hamed Ela to Semera (via Dallol) -Fly Addis.
Early Morning (6:00 AM): Begin the day with a visit to Dallol, a remarkable geothermal wonderland. Explore its surreal landscapes, vibrant sulfur springs, and unique geothermal formations, which create a colorful and otherworldly environment.
Midday (12:00 PM): Depart from Dallol and start the journey back to Semera, enjoying a lunch break along the way.
Afternoon (4:00 PM): Arrive in Semera, marking the conclusion of the tour and Fly back in Addis Ababa.
