Meeting point in the front of Kiasma (Museum of Contemporary Art)
From our meeting point we will see lots of remarkable buildings like Parliament House with it's adjoining building, National Museum and Music House as well Statue of General of Cavalry Mannerheim.
Oodi is supposedly the most famous library in the world during the latest years as it is also many other things than traditional place for borrowing books.
Finland got it's first railroad 1862, but this building was built 1918 by famous architect Eliel Saarinen. But do you know what his son Eero Saarinen is in USA famous of? Which area in Finland is considered to depict Finland's national landscape and how a visit to Central Railway Station gives you an answer to both of these questions?
After Central Railway Station we will see also National Theatre, National Museum of Fine Art, called as Ateneum and walk via Esplanade's park to Market Square by sea. There's also located Helsinki City Hall as well Presidential Palace. How you'll know if Finland's president Sauli Niinistö is working there today? How much gold has been used the 13 cupolas of Russian Orthodoxian Uspenskij Cathedral? Do you want to try winter swimming, well, after our tour you may be want to dip into Allas Sea Pool next to Market Square. Summer time all the cruise ships to view Helsinki archipelago and to Suomenlinna sea fortification as well to Korkeasaari Zoo leave from here.
Senate Square was to be educational, religious and governmental Centre of Finland which became part of Russia 1809 and as a capital of autonomous Finland 1812. Come to see the oldest part of Helsinki, where is still also left burger's houses from the end of the 1800th century.

Hi, I am Nina. My guiding career begins from Lapland from 1995, where I made my first tours for example at the touristic icebreaker Sampo.
Since 1996 I have lived in Helsinki. Before I become Helsinki Guide 2003, I guided also in the Parliament House, Helsinki Museum of Art (HAM) and Museum of the Cultures. Since 2003 as Helsinki authorized guide I have made all kind of tours by bus, taxi, bike, boat, tram and of course by walking in Helsinki, Espoo and the surroundings like Porvoo, and Tuusulanjärvi.
I have also specialised to guide groups of children.
As a tour leader I have worked in Finland and taken groups by train to St.Petersburg, Russia. I was also as a tour leader in China 2005-2008.
I love languages and different cultures and speak also Swedish, Russian and Chinese as well German and a bit Spanish. I am interested in history, design and architecture--hope you are too!
My special interest is to do tours on an sustainable way, for example by walking and utilizing an existing excellent public transportation in Helsinki area.
As many Finns, I am also interested in recycling and second hand shops, which sell vintage or modern but recycled clothes/ items.
