Hi
I am a professional Helsinki Tourist Guide qualified to guide throughout the whole of Helsinki including Suomenlinna Fortress Unesco World Heritage site.
In a previous life I was a tour guide in Greece, Spain and Italy, so I am more than experienced with both large and small groups. I am especially interested in Scandinavian history, art, architecture, design, Jean Sibelius, cycling, hiking, meeting people and. . . . sauna!
My tours can be tailored to suit my customers' needs and interests, e.g. day trips to medieval city of Porvoo, surrounding countryside or the National Park of Nuuksio and heritage sauna tours can also be arranged on request.
I am positive and friendly. I enjoy meeting new people and do everything I can to help guests to make the most of their visit in Helsinki. I have been told by guests on my tours that I have a great sense of humor and really know my stuff.
I also provide accessible tours for elderly with a wheelchair accessible vans.

“Arja and Timu...perfect guides for a perfect tour of Helsinki and Porvoo”
From our first email exchange, I suspected Arja was the perfect guide for my friends and I, 3 retired women. And I was right. That her husband Timu, also a tour guide, joined us was a bonus. Together, they led us through an informative, relaxed, and enjoyable day in Porvoo and Helsinki. Of course, they shared their knowledge of their city and country. But, their warmth and friendliness enhanced our day. I've taken many tours in many places and that means I've spent time with many guides. Arja and Timu top my list of outstanding guides and, are really nice people, too. I cannot recommend Arja and Timu more highly.

“City Highlights Tour”
I booked with Arja a few days before our arrival in Helsinki and she was quick to respond to my request. We had an amazing tour with Arja and her husband, Timo. Picked up on time, saw lots of sites, interesting stories. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. The day ended with sauna and a swim.
