Meeting Point
Hôtel de Ville
- This seventeenth century building, one of the few to survive the quarter’s destruction during WWII, sits near the site where Greek colonists built their first trading outposts some 2,600 years ago. It will serve as our jumping off point into the city’s rich past and vibrant future!
Panier- Vieille Charité
The winding streets of the city’s oldest quarter, the Panier, are worn by thousands of years of footprints; while its walls shine with some of the town’s most extravagant street art scenes.
Basilica of Saint Victor and Fort Saint Nicolas
Crossing the port by ferry we’ll visit the oldest building in Marseille and learn about its own ‘storming of the Bastille’ during the French Revolution.
Vieux Port-Canebière
Wrapping back around the port reveals the nineteenth-century Imperial french monuments as well as the heart of modern Marseille, where the bustling Canebiere meets the ancient Via Italia, before taking us back to the town hall where a weary traveller might enjoy the town’s typical cuisine, and drinks, with a panoramic view of the port.
