This guided tour offers an immersive journey through some of Stuttgart’s most significant historical sites and showcases Stuttgart’s reputation as a renowned wine-growing region.

11:00 AM

Meeting Point

Königstraße 1A, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany

- We start at the beginning of Königstrasse, across the road from the main train station (yellow umbrella).

11:30 AM

House of History Baden-Württemberg

We’ll pass by the House of History, which houses a memorial center dedicated to Claus Graf Stauffenberg. If the name rings a bell, you might recall Tom Cruise’s portrayal of Stauffenberg in the World War II thriller “Valkyrie,” where he attempts to assassinate Hitler. Claus, a native of Stuttgart, played a significant role in the operation.

11:50 AM

Inner courtyard of Altes Schloss

The walking tour includes a visit of the inner courtyard of the Old palace, a historic landmark dating back to the 10th century.

12:20 PM

Neues Schloss

It was built between 1746 and 1807 under the rule of Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg and later King Friedrich I. of Württemberg. Its architecture reflects a mix of styles — late Baroque, Rococo and early Classicism — because construction and completion spanned several decades

12:40 PM

Palace Square

Schlossplatz (Palace Square) is the main square in the heart of Stuttgart’s city center (Mitte district). It’s the city’s largest and most famous square, combining Baroque architecture, open green space, and vibrant urban life.

12:50 PM

Rathaus

The site has hosted a town hall since 1456, and the current building dates from 1956 after wartime destruction and reconstruction

Ending Point

Schloßpl. 6-12, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany

About Tour Guide Kai A.

We are a group of three guides offering tours in English, German, and Spanish. Our tour style is informative yet untraditional and alternative. We like to believe that the tours are a walking comedy show, but you'll have to join us and confirm this! As fellow traveler myself, we created the experience I would enjoy when visiting a new city - a fun, uncensored look at history!
