The coastal city of Nafplio is one of the most pittoresque and historical places of Greece. It was the first capital of the country and it's associated to some of the darkest moments in modern Greek history, including the assassination of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first head of state of independent Greece. In the area we now find Nafplio, a settlement existed for thousands of years, as early as the 2nd millenium b. c.
