Domaine Skouras is located in the Northeastern Peloponnese, in the region of Argolis, just a few kilometers from the city of Argos. The winery is situated within the Nemea zone, the largest and possibly the most exciting Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) for red wines in Greece. Domaine Skouras was founded by George Skouras in 1986, who had studied agriculture at the university of Dijon in France.

We drive from the city of Nafplio to Domaine Skouras winery

Domaine Skouras

We arrive at the entrance of the Domaine, where we are greeted by its staff. A tour of the estate follows in which you will be able to see its installations, including the areas that are used in the production and fermentation process. You will also hear about its history and products. Afterwards you will have some time in order to taste some of its fine wine varieties and also have a lunch if you want to.

“Excellent Tour of Sanctuary of Asclepios and Theatre of Epidavros.”

Ioannis was an excellent tour guide for our visit. He was very knowledgeable detailed in his explanations of the healing sanctuary, and its museum, as well as the theatre of epidavros. His English is good; we asked him to speak a little more slowly at first, as we had some difficulty understanding a few of the unfamiliar words. But by the end of the tour, we could understand all he said. If I need a guide in Greece again, I hope Ioannis is available!
