Széll Kálmán Square
- Upon guest's request we can meet at the hotel or elsewhere. Széll Kálmán Square can be accessed by many ways, for instance with metro line no. 2 (red line); tram line no. 4 or 6.
After we enter Castle District via Vienna Gate, we are at beautiful building of National Archive and soon we get to Kapisztrán Square, where huge tower of former Maria Magdalena Church stands. It serves now as a viewing tower.
Red Hedgehog House is the oldest house of the city. Nicholas Tower is part of Hotel Hilton currently as well as Dominican Courtyard, where we can enter. Medieval parts of monasteries were incorporated into the modern hotel building.
Most spectacular building of castle district is the church with the Fishermen's Bastion behind, offering breathtaking view to the city.
Carmelite Monastery was converted into a theatre already in the 18th century. Currently it is the headquarter of the prime minister.
Although Alexander Palace currently houses the offices of president of Hungary, there are really strange stories about the 19th century owner.
This funicular was the 2nd one in Europe. In the Royal Palaces no king or queen has ever lived. Why? You will learn during the walk. Anyway both offer another breathtaking panorama.
Holy Trinity Square, in front of Mathias Church
