Explore Kumartuli, one of India’s most famous traditional potters’ quarters, where generations of artisans transform river clay, straw and bamboo into magnificent deities. Wander through its fascinating lanes and watch these larger-than-life figures slowly come to life.
But just when you think you’ve seen Kolkata’s artistic soul, we’ll uncover a completely different side of the neighbourhood: Putulbari, the mysterious “House of Dolls.” This hauntingly atmospheric old mansion is wrapped in dark stories, local legends and whispers of its past. Two worlds, one neighborhood: sacred artistry and Kolkata’s most intriguing ghost story.

Step into New Market, the city’s legendary Victorian-era marketplace dating back to 1874, where narrow lanes, colourful stalls, tempting aromas and endless treasures create a world of their own. Wander through the lively Esplanade, uncover stories hidden behind the market’s historic facades, and experience the fascinating mix of old Kolkata and modern city life. Then, it’s time to slow down and savour a special Bengali lunch, discovering the flavours, traditions and stories that make Kolkata’s food culture so unforgettable. Keep your eyes open, because you never know what delicious discovery or unexpected story awaits around the next corner!
St. Paul’s Cathedral: A Gothic Grandeur
Leave behind the colour and chaos of Kolkata’s streets and step into a world of quiet grandeur at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Admire its striking Gothic architecture, soaring interiors, beautiful stained glass and historic artwork as we uncover the stories hidden within its walls. Take a moment to experience the peaceful contrast between the bustling city outside and this remarkable sanctuary within. It’s not just a cathedral to see, but a glimpse into another fascinating chapter of Kolkata’s past.
Victoria Memorial: A Queen’s Legacy
From St. Paul’s Cathedral, continue to one of Kolkata’s most iconic landmarks: the magnificent Victoria Memorial, the world’s largest monument dedicated to a monarch. As its gleaming Makrana marble rises dramatically from the vast Maidan, step into a story of empire, architecture and a city shaped by many layers of history. Admire its remarkable blend of European and Indian influences, explore the grand surroundings, and uncover the stories hidden behind its imposing façade. Pause for photographs, fascinating stories and details many visitors simply walk past.
