The white beach on the Fushime coast is a rare beach in Japan where you can experience volcanic activity. The white cliffs that tower over the coast are pyroclastic flow deposits that were deposited when Lake Ikeda erupted. The Fushime coast is whitish because this cliff has broken down to create a sandy beach. At the edge of the waves on the Fushime coast, which is also known for its sand bath hot springs, hot springs of approximately 100 degrees Celsius gush out, and "hot spring waterfalls'' flow from the top of the cliffs. 1,000 to 1,800 meters underground in the Fushime area, there is hot water with temperatures exceeding 230 degrees Celsius, and this heat source is said to have an effect.
Yamakawa Salt Factory Ruins: For about 20 years starting around 1945, a salt production business was carried out at this location using the hot spring heat from the coast area. Although this type of salt manufacturing business was carried out all over the country, the last one that continued to operate was in the Ibusuki area. It is rare to find a place like the former Yamakawa Salt Factory site where the remains of the salt fields and spring source from that time still exist, and it can be said to be a valuable industrial site that conveys the changing times.
The Hashimuregawa ruins are multi-layered ruins from the Jomon period to the Heian period. It is famous as the site that was the first to academically prove the historical relationship between the Jomon period and the Yayoi period, which had been unclear until then.

Highlights of Kagoshima city, Sakurajima and Sengan-en Garden
“Wonderful day in kagoshima”
Hitomi was a wonderful guide! Unfortunately we didn’t have great weather but she certainly made the most of it and was very flexible to our schedule due to weather. She also took us to the best lunch we have had in Japan. Would absolutely recommend!

(4 reviews)Thank you very much for your wonderful review! I am happy to hear that you enjoyed Kagoshima and Wagyu beef yakiniku. I also enjoyed guiding you around Senganen Cat shrine. By now you are definitely having a great time with your beloved cat and dog. with many thanks.
“Hidden Sakurajima”
Due to circumstances the plan was changed but Hitomi was quick to adapt. As it was cloudy we could not see the top of Sakurajima but still learnt a lot at the visitor Center. The highlight though was the wagyu lunch as it pleased some tough critics. Hoping to come back again and hopefully see the full view of Sakurajima.

(4 reviews)Thank you for your tour review. I really like the title "Hidden Sakurajima'' and the phrase "some tough critics." I thought there was only one tough critic, but there were actually some! you are such a great writer. It was a shame that the weather and the cherry blossoms weren't in bloom yet, but I'm glad you enjoyed the Wagyu Yakiniku. Continue your wonderful cruise ship journey! Please come back to Kagoshima again! Also, please give my best wishes to each and every member of your family. .
“Sakurajima”
Two of us had a nice visit to Sakurajima with Hitomi. She was very pleasant, engaging and informative with a nice sense of humor. Definitely five star guide.
