In search of the key to open Kagoshima's treasure chest!
Kagoshima is blessed with many volcanoes, a mild climate and a lot of rain. People have survived on barren volcanic ash plateaus. Currently, the agricultural production is the highest in Japan and marine resources are also abundant. Relatively close ancestors started the industrial revolution along with the social revolution for modernization in Japan. Western countries hailed this as an oriental miracle. Please enjoy the trip to find many of Kagoshima's secret keys.

KAGOSHIMA HIGHLIGHTS Day Tour
We’ll visit some of the most beautiful and interesting spots in the city, with stories and views you won’t find in guidebooks. One highlight is a short ferry ride to Mt. Sakurajima, Japan’s most active volcano today. I’ll share how this wild landscape was shaped, and how locals live calmly in its shadow — with ash on their cars and humor in their hearts. As a local guide, I’ll choose the best places to match the day’s weather and your interests, so you get the most out of your visit.

Dear Jo and family! Thank you so much for your warm recommendation! This area, as you saw, is so rich in nature, history, culture, and good food. I only wish we had a bit more time together. I hope you’ll visit Japan again, and if you return to Kyushu—whether on a cruise or for a longer trip—we would be happy to show you even more beautiful and hidden places. Warm regards, Yaron

“Super Sini - our Guide for Kagoshima ”
Sini was brilliant. She was able to flex our starting time as our cruise was departing early. We visited Sengen palace and amazing gardens and glass factory and concluded with stopping at the Observatory view point. She was so knowledgable of the details and her English language was great. We would use Sini again when we visit next time.

“A fabulous day with Guide - Yaron”
We had the most wonderful day with Yaron and his driver meandering south through rich volcanic soils with many farms growing an assortment of vegetables and tea. Yaron was very patient answering our many questions about local farming and industry. We learned a lot about Japanese history both very old and the more recent times. The Chiran Gardens with ancient Samuari houses and gardens were such a privilege to visit, so much history with original houses over 300 years old. Truly the most beautiful park and Cherry Blossoms was experienced at the Chiran Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots where we were told of their tragic missions during WWII. Our lunch restaurant was an amazing venue and will never be forgotten: eating traditional food in a traditional way never experienced before. There was so much more during the tour with photo stops and local knowledge imparted which we so enjoyed. A huge thank you Yaron and 100% for being such a great guide. Susie, Rob, Jilly and Hugh.

Dear Susie, Rob, Jilly and Hugh, Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review, I truly appreciate it ! It was our pleasure spending the day with you, we glad you chose a route that combines landscapes, agriculture, and culture as it really reflects the hidden part of southern Japan. Your curiosity about local farming and japanese history made the experience even more meaningful from my side as well. I’m glad to hear that Chiran, the samurai residences, and the Peace Museum left a strong impression on you. These places carry powerful stories, and it means a lot to me that you connected with them. I hope this day will remain a memorable part of your journey in Japan, Wishing you all the very best in your travels, and I would be delighted to meet you again in the future. Yours, Yaron
