Gyeongju is often called “the museum without walls,” as the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC–AD 935). The city preserves remarkable cultural treasures such as Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, masterpieces of Buddhist art and architecture. Visitors can also explore royal tombs at Daereungwon Tomb Complex and the ancient observatory Cheomseongdae. Blending history, spirituality, and natural beauty, Gyeongju offers a vivid journey into Korea’s thousand-year Silla heritage.

Seokgulam Grotto
The first stop is Seokguram Grotto, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring a serene granite Buddha statue overlooking the East Sea. This masterpiece represents the height of Silla Buddhist art.
Bulguksa buddhist Temple
Next, visit Bulguksa Temple, one of Korea’s most beautiful temples, known for its elegant stone pagodas and harmonious architecture from the 8th century.
Lunch
Dongbu Historic Relic heritage site
In the afternoon, explore the historic heart of Gyeongju. See Cheomseongdae, the oldest astronomical observatory in Asia, built during the Silla period.
Continue to Daereungwon Tomb Complex, where large grassy burial mounds hold the tombs of Silla kings and nobles.
Woljeonggyo and Gyochon Traditional Village
Later, walk across the beautifully restored Woljeonggyo Bridge and visit nearby Gyochon Traditional Village, where traditional Korean houses and local culture can still be experienced.
Depart for Busan
After a full day exploring the thousand-year history of the Silla Kingdom, return to Busan in the evening.
