Hello, My name is Katsunori, a national licensed guide in English. Just call me “Fuji-san”, the same as Mt. Fuji-san. I worked and lived abroad more than 15 years mainly in the United States, Australia, Abu Dhabi, China and Malaysia. During those days, I communicated many local peoples and felt a lot of different cultures and thinking ways. I was interested in this multi culture circumstance. I also visited many places, some of them were on business purpose, and the others were as private travels. Visiting new places always gave me new discoveries and deep impressions, and I really like these feelings. I would like the visitors to Japan to feel such impressions, and I would like to assist them – this is the primary motivation for me to be a tour guide. One of my hobbies is trekking. One of the travels that made an impression on me was a mountain trekking at Nepal. I trekked 4 days through the hills over 3000m in Himalaya with mountain guide. Another nice experience was the trekking of Jungle in Sarawak island in Malaysia. The guides explained the natures such as plants, flowers, butterfly and insects of those areas in addition to the trails in both cases, and I really recognized the importance of the guiding. If the guides were not suitable, my memories on the travels might not be so nice. Japan is really beautiful country. It has seasonal beauty according to the four clear cut seasons. The natures with historical buildings are beyond description. I really hope you, visitors, receive great impressions during your stay in Japan. I have been in Tokyo(downtown side) since I was born. For three years I have traveled in 57 countries and worked in Bolivia for a year. When I traveled in Maya's ruin, I was really impressed that my guide told me not only the information about the ruin but also how to live in Guatemala, how to earn and the political problem etc... A guide is a diplomatic entrance to the country, I think. From this experience, I would like to give you what I have to every customer. Having been worked as an elementary school teacher in Japan, though I know the educational issue as a strong point, now I work as a tour-conductor traveling around Tokyo area. I used to hike around the world, of course in Japan. Northern Japan Alpes, Southern Japan Alpes, Yatsugatake mountain range and Mt.Fuji. The highest one for me is Mount Cotopaxi in Ecuador with 5892m. Another strong point is that I can hike with you. Monte Fuji, el mercado de pescado de Toyosu, Kamakura etc... Como un guía turistico, podría hacer un recorrido ajustando a su desea. También tengo experiencias del senderismo en Japón y en algunos países. El Cotopaxi de Ecuador es una montaña mas alta para mí con 5897m de la altura. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter living in Yamanashi Prefecture. My name is Yuji. The area of Mt. Fuji is actually part of Yamanashi Prefecture. Tourists to Mt. Fuji area are not necessarily aware of that. Mt. Fuji as the highest mountain in Japan is on the border of Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures. In Yamanashi sit the 2nd highest mountain, Mt. Kitadake and the 3rd highest mountain of Mt. Ainodake. Yamanashi faces no sea and capital city of Kofu is in the basin area. I grew up in Yamanashi until high school and then I studied and worked in Tokyo Metropolitan area. I came back to Yamanashi at the end of 2002. During my working days for companies including Harley-Davidson Japan, I had sharpened my English and communication skills. I had some opportunities to escort executives or employees of Harley-Davidson Motor Company and I have vaguely been thinking how rewarding it is to guide people. Now I have clear prospect about guiding. After I came back to Yamanashi, I have also developed further enthusiasm about hiking in mountains and exploring the nature. If you are interested in any special type of hiking such as hiking to see snow capped Mt. Fuji, I will be the perfect fit to arrange. I have many hiking experiences including several times to Mt. I have lived in USA for 15 years in total starting from Iowa when I was in a high school as an AFS exchange student and later in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally in New Jersey as a business man. I learned Spanish at Osaka University for Foreign Studies for 4 years and lived in Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador for more than 5 years in total, and travelled some other countries in Latin America and Spain. I am a certified Wine sommelier and quite knowledgeable about Japanese Sake. So in addition to the regular tour of metropolitan Tokyo area and its vicinity, I can take you to very authentic and popular restaurants where you can enjoy wonderful world of Japanese cuisine with some local drink. That is my strength, so to speak. I can do one day or half day tour for weekends for Metropolitan Tokyo area, but also can cater to the needs of people who want to be guided to some deep, casual and reasonably priced "Izakaya" style drinking places during weekdays after 5:00PM if I am open. I can also guide, if schedule allows, Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji vecinity, Nikko and some popular places in western Japan like Kyoto, Nara and Osaka as I lived there for many years. I enjoy talking about many topics such as Japanese culture and of your own country.
