I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

Thank you for writing a review. I enjoyed the tour to Hakone with you. Hakone was much busier than I expected. We had to wait to ride on the gondola and sightseeing boat, but I would be happy you enjoyed the tour. Although we were not able to see Mt. Fuji due to the clouds, but we were able to see the volcanic activity at Owakudani. We also learned about the history of Hakone at the Hakone Checkpoint. I look forward to seeing you again in Japan!

“tour of hakone”
Although we enjoyed seeing the highlights of Hakone - our guide did not add anything to the experience except to help us b navigate from one sight to another. I think touring Hakone does not need a guide and unfortunately our experience of a guided tour was expensive for simply having an experienced guide navigate for us but provide absolutely no input or information. a very expensive but no value tour.

I don't think Hakone tour is no value tour. Unfortunately on that day, you didn't see Mt. Fuji due to the weather and you were not satisfied with the tour, but this is a customized tour so you can visit any place you like and most of my guests are happy to go around with me and listen to explanations of Hakone's geography and history.

“Ein schöner Tag in Hakone”
Auch während unserer zweiten Tour mit Yuki hatten wir sehr viel Spaß. Sie hat uns in Hakone und Umgebung begleitet und während der üblichen Hakone-Runde (von Gora über Owakudani und dem Ashi-See nach Moto-Hakone (Hakone-Schrein) und dann zurück zum Bahnhof in Hakone) viel erklärt und erzählt. In unserer eigenen Geschwindigkeit (als Familie ist man doch etwas langsamer unterwegs) konnten wir uns alles ohne Stress anschauen und hatten am Ende in Hakone sogar Zeit, um ein paar Dinge einzukaufen. Auch da war Yuki uns sehr behilflich und hat uns vieles erklärt. Somit war also auch die zweite Tour mit Yuki ein voller Erfolg! Liebe Yuki, vielen Dank, dass du uns auch in Hakone begleitet hast. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn wir dich auf einer zukünftigen Reise nach Japan wieder treffen! Viele Grüße von uns drei!

Liebe Tini, ich glaube, dass wir den Fuji in Hakone so klar sehen konnten, lag an eurem guten Karma – so sagt man das bei uns in Japan! Ich habe mich total gefreut, euch nach einer Woche wiederzusehen, und ich hatte mich schon vor der Tour sehr darauf gefreut. Hakone ist wirklich ein wunderschöner Ort, und ich freue mich sehr, dass euch Japan so gut gefällt.
