Since I was a child I've always been curious about different countries and cultures and I enjoyed studying foreign languages, that's why I chose to study at the Touristy High School of Venice and after graduating I decided to study Economics of Tourism and Arts at the University of Venice - Ca' Foscari. Meanwhile I had some chances to travel as well, I visited most of the European countries, spending some weeks in the Uk, France and Spain to study, but I also had the chance to travel to Russia thanks to my University and to the United States. The soul behind the scenes or: The core beyond your expectations Looking behind the scenes and telling stories has always been my passion. Growing up in Salzburg and the Salzkammergut region, I have loved finding out exciting things in the simplest of things since childhood and passing on what I have found out is actually an even greater one. What good is all that "useless knowledge" if you can't share it? 25 years as a production manager and researcher in film have made me sure that what's behind is more exciting than what you see in the first moment. My enthusiasm for the story at hand sometimes carries me away in such a way that I find it hard to let it fall into secrecy. And then the idea came up to turn all this knowledge and the desire to pass it on into something meaningful. From there it was not far to the training as a guide. Three years later and a few exams later I started to practice this profession and I realize that it is more and more fun to see how people get involved in what I am telling them. As a guide, I don't see myself as a data mediator, but rather as the one who brings the local attitude to life closer to his guests and makes it possible to experience it; this is not possible with pure numbers, data and facts, which are also important, but it is much more important for me to bring out the individual fates and their influences up to the present day. Of course, this may, no! - must sometimes come along with a mischievous wink, it is precisely the irony and humor that make up the actual "flavor" of things. Truth is too important a commodity to be sacrificed to pure objectivity, since it is never black and white and can usually only be found between the lines. I have always been searching for this truth and it is important to me to convey it.

In the United Kingdom, I graduated in Information Systems and returned to Porto to get a Master's degree in Management. During my degree in the United Kingdom, I made friends with students from various corners of the world: Italians, Germans, French, Senegalese, Thais, Malawians, Turks, Poles, Czechs, etc., also living in students accommodations in the university campus, where the kitchens were shared, one of the things that gave me greater pleasure, was to share our different gastronomies, besides, each one love to mention what can best be discovered in each country and in their native cities, without forgetting soccer preferences! At the same time, I got a part-time job on the weekends at the Holiday Inn Hotel, to help with my expenses. There where I worked nights in the bar and restaurant. Here, once again, I shared and heard stories from the four corners of the world from my colleagues and guests. Then, on my return to Portugal and after taken a Master degree in Business Management at FEP (Faculty of Economics of Porto), I started working 9 hours a day in an accounting office making business and financial plans. Tired and seeing that this would not be a future for me, I decided to create my own business in the tourism sector and in an area that has always attracted me, the travel sector. That's how I decided to open a travel agency initially specializing in incoming tourism, more specifically on sightseeing tours and later in outgoing tourism. As I felt I needed more knowledge in the area, I enrolled in the course of certified tourism driver of the Escola de Turismo do Porto. This was an intensive 350-hour course of study in local guiding and domestic and international tours directing. I received my SNATTI (National Union for Tourist Guides) membership certificate on May December 20,2020, and it has been a blessing ever since. I have a Portuguese Class B Driver’s License and I also have a First Aid Certificate.
