Tanzania

I’m Tanzanian through and through, with a misplaced affinity for cheesy romance movies (who doesn’t love Titanic!) and Country and Western music (something my friends are forever teasing me about). The first thing you’ll notice about me is that I love meeting new people and making them smile. The second is that I have a deep passion for and knowledge of my home country. If you’re setting foot in Africa for the first time, Tanzania can seem bewildering, daunting, and exotic. But I’m here to settle you in and give you insider knowledge about our language, customs and beliefs. How do you eat ugali with one hand? Everyone learns ‘jambo’ as a greeting, but what words do Tanzanians really use? What do local people do when they believe their personal ‘star’ is no longer shining? Kevin, can you teach me how to moonwalk? (why yes!) You’ll have me on hand to help and advise you before, throughout, and even after your tour – perhaps you’ll even join me on another one of my experiences! After booking your place on my tour, you’ll receive some personal pre-travel advice on Tanzanian etiquette, and a little on the  language – starting with; ‘how on earth do you pronounce Ngorongoro?’ A few things you should know about the people of Tanzania: we love to smile, laugh, sing, dance, and have fun (any excuse!) We wear our hearts on our sleeves and form friendships quickly and naturally. In fact, in my native language, Kiswahili, the word ‘mgeni’ meaning ‘foreigner’, is the same as the word for ‘guest’. Here you are not a tourist but a new companion, and that is the feeling I want you to experience as your personal host. Karibu nyumbani! Tanzania welcomes you home!

I love to share all type of experiences with travelers in my hometown. We can visit the main spots if you are a first time visitor, or we can go off the beaten path whether you have some special interest. During the tour you will be inspired to ask me any type of question about Buenos Aires, and porteños (the way the local people are called), and my challenge will be to answer all of them in detail. You will learn a lot about the local culture, lifestyle, art, music, sports and food. My solid experience of 16 years in the industry, my academic background (degrees in Economics, Business, Tourism and Languages) and multiple travels around 15 countries are my best credentials. I'm also a polo player, coach and horse trainer. You can also book to take a polo lesson or watch a polo match, and experience the Sport of Kings in Buenos Aires, which is considered the polo capital of the world. It is impossible to get bored doing this profession as every day brings a new adventure. This job enabled me to meet people from over 100 countries. I am also a host of a travel show broadcasted on streaming, which helps me to stay updated. Last but not least I love not only horses but also dogs, enjoying very much to help animal shelters. My dog is called Charlotte and she is very cute :) Thank you for reading my bio, if you have any question or comment please contact me!

Japan

Hi! My name is Fuhito, and I would love to be your tour guide in Japan! I will take you on wonderful trips around Japan, and I specialize in giving extraordinary experiences that you will never forget, from popular sightseeing spots to places off the beaten track. Let me share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Tokyo’s countryside, and I have spent 3.5 years abroad when I was a child. While I was abroad, I realized that I knew so little about my own country. Since then, I became much more interested in Japan and started to research a lot. The more I learned about Japan, the more I became attracted to Japanese history, culture, and customs, which made me want to live like an ideal Japanese person in some way. I first started out as a volunteer guide and interpreter in Tokyo, and I am now certified as a national licensed guide and interpreter, and have been traveling around Japan to learn more about my country, and to share it with my future guests and friends. As I introduce things about Japan, I found myself enjoying seeing my friends and guests becoming more interested in Japan. Since then, I have also sought out opportunities to get involved in many cultural exchange programs such as walking tours, promoting sister city relationships, taking care of delegations, and organizing homestay programs. I also love to take photos of beautiful scenery, people, and traditional things. I would be more than happy to take your photos for you while you are in Japan, so please feel free to ask! There are so many memories that you can remember from a single photo. Please reach out to me if you have any specific requests or even if you’re just looking for information. I would be delighted to take you to photogenic places to take some photos together! I always enjoy guiding and want to contribute to your wonderful trip with the very best of my hospitality. When you have a chance to travel around Japan, please feel free to ask me anything! And if you book me for a tour, we will surely have a great time together. I look forward to seeing you in Japan!

Japan

My name is Yoshi, alias known as "Lonesome Cowboy", who used to live and work in El Paso in the Lone Star state of the US. During my stay there, I was able to enjoy opportunities to go around the Southwest (TX, NM, AZ, UT, CO) alone, taking advantage of given long holidays. The total distance I drove was no less than 3,000 km (about 1,900 miles). I dropped by a motel in a countryside town along the highway, drank several glasses of whiskey at the bar, and the next day continued travelling for other new towns that I had never seen before. I felt that I was just a cowboy wandering place to place of the wide country in the middle of the 19th century.   Long time has passed since I had come back to Japan from that exciting and fulfilling life there, and I already retired and came back to my hometown, KOHOKU (湖北; The northern region of lake Biwa, Shiga pref.) When I recall back those good old days, a kind of feeling that I would like to serve tourists from abroad has bubbled over in my mind. I want to help you to see and enjoy quite distinctive four seasons, impressive legends and moving stories caused by historic happenings, and casual everyday lives of the village people here. Let me guide you around KOHOKU, which is not definitely on the Golden route of Japan travel and will not become in the future either, but we believe you must be able to feel and catch a kind of essence of the Japanese people who had created and have developed the deep and genuine culture. Such nature, historical events and crystallization of the people's effort are the ultimate attraction of KOKOKU.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I have had opportunities to communicate with foreign people since I was a junior high school student, because I joined American summer camp held in Japan. When I'm not tour guiding, I love to learn languages - I can speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. Yoga is also one of my passions, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) by International Yoga Alliance. Local gastronomy has always interested me, so I decided to do a course for a wine consultant to get to know more about the rich wine history in Croatia.
