About Tour Guide Mercedes P.
I am spanish woman, History degree and master in American Anthropology, working as a guide in Granada since 2010 (Oficial licensed guide in Andalucia)
Before then I have lived in different countries such as Paraguay and thee Netherlands and have had scholarships in New York and Paris to learn English and French language. For a period of a year I was working in the luxurious train Al Andalus that travels around Andalucia, as a guide first and as the train manager after. At the moment I am home based in Granada and I work as a guide mainly in this city.
I love to be a guide so I can provide a nice, interesting and empathic perspective of Granada and its monuments, its society and its history.

Alhambra and Generalife tour (tickets not included)
For along 3 hours you will get to know Alhambra and Generalife, the most visited monument in Spain. We will walk into the Royal city of Alhambra visiting palaces, gardens, military areas and we will walk through the country state of Generalife. Both, big areas, built and used by Islamic Nasrid dinasty along 13th, 14th and 15th century. As well we will observe and explain about all changes (buildings or artwise details) done after the conquest of the complex in 1492 by Catholic kings.

Orientational walking tour of city of Granada : Albaycin and city center
If you don´t have much time in the city or you do but you first want to locate yourself in Granada before you explore it deeper, this tour is your choice. Walking tour through Albaycin neighbourhood and city center of Granada. Starting in nice viewpoint of San Cristobal, on top of the hill and finishing the tour in the main local square of Bib rambla, in city center area. The idea is to cover the highlights of main historical areas in Granada.

Mercedes provided my wife and I an informative, interesting and illuminating tour of the Alhambra palace and gardens complex. Her knowledge of the history was impressive, and she new little details about life in medieval times that were very interesting. Her English is outstanding, and her international experiences come through in her perspectives and the discussions that we had with her during the tour. Hello! My name is Manu. I am master architect, master in Historical Construction Techniques and licenced guide. I studied architecture in Granada and during the degree I also worked as urban photography teacher and editor in an arts magazine. I finished in 2015 and I did an internship in Yokohama National University in Japan. After that I worked for the University of Castilla La Mancha, where I did some restorations and started working with heritage architecture. With COVID pandemic I started painting realism focused works, from domestic elements that in 2025 led me to be selected in the National Realism Museum of Almeria as one of the 24 most representative young realist painters in the country. In 2018 I started my own architecture studio and got an official guiding licence complemented with the official guiding licence of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba I obtained in 2023. So since then I work running my own projects and collaborating with different companies while showing the Andalusian architecture , heritage, history and urbanism in the cities of Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Malaga and Cádiz.
