09:00 AM

Meeting Point

Hotel Lobby

- Hotel pickup and introduction to early Singapore.

10:00 AM

Civic District & Singapore River

Walk along the Singapore River, once the lifeline of early trade where coolies, merchants, and bumboats powered the city’s growth. From here, step into the Civic District — the birthplace of modern Singapore — where colonial buildings, historic institutions, and key landmarks tell the story of how the nation was shaped.

Hear how a small trading post evolved into a global city, while standing in the very spaces where major decisions, turning points, and everyday life unfolded.

11:30 AM

Chinatown

Explore Chinatown, where early Chinese migrants settled and built their lives in tightly packed shophouses. Walk through bustling streets, temples, and markets while hearing stories of hardship, resilience, and how this district evolved from overcrowded quarters into a vibrant cultural hub today.

Along the way, discover how different communities, beliefs, and traditions coexist offering a deeper understanding of Singapore’s multicultural identity beyond what you see on the surface.

12:30 PM

Tiong Bahru

Explore Tiong Bahru, one of Singapore’s oldest residential neighbourhoods, where 1930s Art Deco architecture meets a modern café culture. Walk through curved low-rise blocks, quiet courtyards, and local markets while hearing how this area evolved from early public housing into one of the city’s most charming and liveable districts today.

We’ll also take a relaxed break here for lunch, either at a local hawker centre or a café, depending on your preferences. This is a chance to experience everyday Singaporean food culture from classic hawker favourites to modern local cafés with guidance on what to try and how locals order. (Food is not included, so you can choose freely based on your appetite.)
