Hi! I'm Sumiko.
I was born in Yamanashi, next to Tokyo, and had seen Mt. Fuji every day without thinking anything special at that time. (Now, I feel nostalgic every time I see it!)
After I graduated from high school, I came to Tokyo for my college. Now, I live in Tokyo.
I have guided many foreign tourists as an English tour guide for the past several years.
I am quite familiar with touristy places as well as some areas only locals know.
Through my study or experiences as a tour guide, I rediscovered how Japan is traditional and new, complicated and simplified, friendly and modest. I hope to help you in understanding this interesting country with utmost “OMOTENASHI” or Japanese way of hospitality. Let’s hit the road together!
I can take you to Kanazawa if you pay my transportation fee.

Sumiko-San met us at the Daiba station right outside our hotel. We did the entire Hakone ring using public transportation. She planned the tour to accommodate my wife's titanium knees and knew the location of every escalator and elevator at every station. We had a clear day with magnificent views of Mt. Fujiyama. The grandkids enjoyed her presence immensely and she has an excellent grasp of the English language. With her assistance we purchased Shinkansen tickets and gained the confidence to see the Nagano snow monkeys for an overnight trip. I unreservedly recommend Sumiko-san for any guided tours.
