About Tour Guide Matteo P.
I am a licensed tourist guide of the Sardinia Region with many years of experience and I always love to present and to show my island. I think it is a very beautiful and interesting place and it really deserves to be visited. At the university, I've studied sociolinguistics but as I am a native Sardinian, all my studies were mostly connected to Sardinia, which has a very special cultural and linguistic situation. Anyhow, beside its interesting history, culture and languages, Sardinia has the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, plus and extraordinary variety of landscapes. I've worked as tour guide more than 30 years, before just as part time activity during the summer and now as a full time work, and even after so many years, I always enjoy to take the people around this beautiful and extraordinary island.

OLBIA AND COSTA SMERALDA TOUR FOR CRUISE PASSENGERS
This is an introduction to Sardinia, to the province of Olbia and to the Costa Smeralda. We’ll start from the Olbia area to arrive at a panoramic point near Golfo Aranci, after we’ll visit the resort of Portorotondo, once the port of the granite for the Romans, now the meeting place of the Italian elite, decorated by many works of important artists. Then, we’ll go up to the village of San Pantaleo set between peaks of granite. At the end we'll go to Porto Cervo, the capital of Costa Smeralda.

ART MARKET OF SAN PANTALEO & PORTO ROTONDO
These two locations, San Pantaleo and Porto Rotondo, are both inside the municipality of Olbia and they have been characterized in the last 30 years by an intense artistic activity: Porto Rotondo hosting the works of some of the most famous Italian artists and San Pantaleo having, during the summer, EVERY THURSDAY MORNING, one of the most interesting artistic markets of North Sardinia.

TOUR OF OLBIA + TRADITIONAL DINNER
Olbia is the gateway to Sardinia and the economic engine of Gallura (a north east Sardinian province) . The name Olbia means "the happy town" and was given by the ancient Greek navigators who used it as a base for their trade for about two centuries. Also very rich and ancient is its traditional cuisine that you can taste in one of the best "agriturismo" in the area. The agriturismo is a kind of farm restaurant, which with a moderate price can offer a full array of traditional Sardinian dishes.

“Excellent full day tour with Matteo”
We had such a fantastic day with Matteo. He is such a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable in all areas from history to architecture to beach clubs. His tour was the highlight of our holiday and I can recommend him very highly. Matteo is kind, patient, professional and fun. If you book with him you will have the best day.

“Knowledgeable, warm hearted local!”
We can’t recommend Matteo enough. He’s a very knowledgeable local with a wonderful energy. He picked us up in the north of the island and he curated a custom agenda for us based on our interests and our requested final destination in the south of the island. He was also flexible- helping us add and modify the agenda as ideas come up! We had an incredible day and arrived safely in the south of the island for part two of our trip. What an incredible way to see and learn more of the island, rather than just driving straight from point A to point B!

Thank you very much Kristy for this nice rating, where you describe, in a detailed way, a day which has been very pleasant also for me.
