Hello fans of the Maya culture!
My name is Jens, I am a German living in Cancún, México. I am a specialized tour guide with an official guiding license in Mexico for English, Spanish and German, and have been working in the Maya area for 25 years. My specialty is Maya calendar and Maya hieroglyphic writing. I have written a number of books and articles about those topics. I would like to guide you in the famous Maya ruins like Tulum, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal, Palenque, Calakmul and others. I also know some secret Maya ruins where no other tourists go.

Normally, I am available every day. I prefer working as a guide doing round trips. My tours vary very much and usually last from 3 to 8 days. I can do day trips as well.

Virtual Tour "Welcome to the Maya world"
This is a PowerPoint presentation of 100 of my best slides of the Maya world. We will go on a virtual tour through Yucatan, Belize and Guatemala. You might want to book this Zoom presentation before your vacation in the Maya area or in case you are not able or willing to travel in person, for whatever reason. During our Zoom meeting I will not just explain my slides, you can also ask questions of course.
Day trip from Cancun to Tulum and Cobá in minivan
Starting from your hotel in the Riviera Maya (between Cancun and Playa del Carmen) we pick you up at your hotel and with an official van for tourism we go to visit Tulum and Cobá. I will reveal to you some secrets about the history of the Maya and will show and explain to you some Maya hieroglyphs in Cobá. After lunch we will go swimming in a cenote (cave lake). This tour includes a Maya codex as present.

En nuestro encuentro de Zoom interactivo, les mostraré una presentación PowerPoint sobre la escritura jeroglífica maya. Veremos primero, en cuales medios aparece la escritura maya. Analizaremos el idioma de la escritura jeroglífica. Les explicaré cómo funcionaba la escritura maya exactamente, y finalmente leeremos una inscripción completa de Yaxchilán.

En nuestro encuentro de Zoom interactivo, les mostraré una presentación PowerPoint sobre el supuesto astronauta de Palenque. Tal vez han leído sobre este tema en un libro del famoso autor suizo Erich von Däniken o han visto programas de los "Alienígenas Ancestrales" en History Channel. Por cierto, he escrito un libro sobre este tema y también he trabajado como guía del grupo de Erich von Däniken en Palenque en Noviembre 2019. ¡Se va a poner interesante!

En nuestro encuentro de Zoom interactivo, les mostraré una presentación PowerPoint sobre siete códices mayas. Tal vez han escuchado, que solo existen 3 o 4 códices mayas, así que esto se debe poner interesante. Algunos de los códices que presentaré, los he dibujado yo mismo. ¡Déjense sorprender para aprender fascinantes detalles sobre esto antiguos manuscritos!

Day trip from Cancun to Tulum and Cobá in minivan
“Excellent triop to Tulum & Coba”
We had a day trip with Jens today visiting Coba & Tulum. It was a wonderful experience & would recommend Jens very highly to anyone interested in exploring the Myan culture and Mexico. Our day started at 8.00am and we traveled by air conditioned mini bus to Tulum. The driver was superb, very friendly, very efficient. En route, Jens introduced us to Mayan hieroglyphics, explaining the system and meaning as well as the Mayan calendar. Hugely enriching. We then traveled to Coba where Jens sorted out a bicycle 'taxi' for us so we toured the ruins at leisure without having to walk much at all. Overall a wonderful experience We then stopped for what was an exceptional local buffet for lunch and finally a cenote to have a quick swim. Honestly, an excellent day. Very highly recommended!
