Mexico City Tour Guide - Miroslava L.

Miroslava L.

Mexico

My name is Miroslava. I'm a native of Xochimilco and a proud winner of the most meaningful beauty contest in CDMX 'La flor más bella del ejido' 2006. Because of this, I became a cultural ambassador and guardian of my culture and community. I learned embroidery from my grandma when I was 12 years old, and later on, I continued learning from handcrafter friends from different communities around Mexico. I've been teaching and holding workshops on embroidery since 2010. In 2012, I launched a brand/workshop called "TRAMA", which now, after 13 years of experience and building a community of handcrafters, offers not only artisanal products and workshops but also unique experiences to visit and live Xochimilco's culture and nature.

Mexico

I am a México City local who is in love with it. I love my whole country but I love my city more. I have studied International Relations and Mexican gastronomy and it's history. I work as a tourist guide and in films as a chaperone; in there my job is to receive and take care of foreign producers and actors. Among the task, I take them to eat, party and find stuff that doesn't exist ( yes that happens). As there are different requirements for this jobs I get to know the different parts of the culture, the exclusive, fancy, curious, popular, untidy; the whole ideosincrasy. I am a serious foodie, also enthusiast about, coffee, beer, wine, mezcal and pulque (prehispanic drink). I like to collect hidden jewels from my city and I also like to cook but preferably with the proper calm and telling the story and culture around the food. In order to have some balance I am sportively very active, I practice football soccer and rugby, also willing to go outdoors anytime. When I was about to enter to study I wanted to do something good for my country; this jobs are a great way to do it, I am proud to show my culture. I also like the fact that I get to learn from visitors, their way of seeing the world. It is very rewarding when visitors leave happy.

Mexico Tour Reviews

Fantastic Tour Guide!

Oskar was exactly what I was looking for. His knowledge of the major sites and the local culture in general were a huge plus, as were his translation skills for this non-Spanish speaker. And, he's a really nice guy as well! I won't hesitate to hire him again on my next trip to Mexico City.

Chase H.

Hi Chase! Thank you so much for your review. I really appreciate it. I'm happy to have been part of your trip and I hope you come back to Mexico City. It was very gratifying for me to have spent these two days with you, especially because when the time came to say goodbye, I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend.

The most interesting historical tour of CDMX!

If you are interested in learning more about Mexican history, this tour is for you. Within the first 10 meters from our meeting place, Roberto had already covered a big chunk of amazing historical facts. Absolutely mesmerizing! Roberto was a great host during our tour until the end of the tour that he recommended a restaurant for one of the best gastronomical experiences in CDMX: Limosneros. Thank you Roberto!!!

Susan V.

Susan it was a incredible pleasure to meet you and your husband, and the opportunity to assist you in your refamiliarization tour with Mexico. Hope to see you soon. Til then God Bless you .

Wonderful day in Teotihuacan

We had the best 2 days with Hilary! She prepared an agenda to accommodate the needs of my 2 boys (one is 15, the other is 9). As usual, plan looks great on paper but she was able to modify and rearrange the schedule based on the interest and needs of our family. She was so patient and understanding when the hangry boys needed a break or switch of activities. She answered all the questions and kept feeding the boys with information you can't always find on Google. I fully recommend Hilary as the best guide! She's so attentive to your needs and can adjust on the fly! THANK YOU!!!!
