I am Mario a very passionate and dedicated tour Guide for my city Goa. The Goa that I grew up in was very different from what it is today. It had a charm that was unique and a culture that was still strongly influenced by its gripping past. This led me to become very interested in learning all about my delightful homeland at a very young age.
Digging through the rich cultural heritage of Goa soon turned into a desire to share its beauty with others. Turning my passion into a profession, I worked my way to becoming a licensed tour guide who is recognized by the Goa State Tourism Department, and has over 20 years of experience leading tours across Goa.
A tour with me will always be accompanied with interesting facts and stories about Goa’s enthralling history and fascinating culture. The enthusiasm and passion that I have for Goa is contagious and will leave you captivated as I guide you through my quaint and unforgettable homeland.

Fontainhas Heritage walk
A Standing legacy of Goa's Heritage dwells in my neighbourhood Fontainhas. I haved lived in this part of the city for the last forty five years. Growing up here in this neighbourhood the locals living here have become family. “Fontainhas Through the Eyes of a Local: Mario Makes It Magical! ”
A Wonderful, Personal Tour of Fontainhas with Mario! We thoroughly enjoyed our private walking tour of Panjim and the beautiful Fontainhas quarter with Mario, a long-standing local resident and wonderfully knowledgeable guide. His fascinating insights into Goa's Portuguese history, architecture and the stories behind the buildings really brought the streets to life. We particularly enjoyed learning about the complexities of historic property ownership and how these continue to shape the area today. Along the way, we sampled delicious treats from a traditional bakery, enjoyed refreshing lime sodas and had the privilege of visiting a beautiful family home dating back to 1827 complete with original period furniture and homemade wine! What made the tour especially enjoyable was Mario's warmth, local connections and willingness to share his knowledge of both historic and contemporary Goan life. We would wholeheartedly recommend Mario to anyone looking for an authentic, engaging and personal walking tour of this fascinating part of Goa. A wonderful experience!
