Meeting Point
At the Hotel
- In the morning (08:00 - 10:00) - We will welcome you from your hotel and depart to the National Museum of Antiquities of Dushanbe via Rudaki Avenue.
1.National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan
We start our tour with visiting the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan in Dushanbe, a key cultural landmark showcasing important archaeological treasures from across the country. The museum’s most famous highlight is the Sleeping Buddha (Buddha in Nirvana) from Ajina Tepe.
This impressive clay sculpture is about 12–13 meters long and dates back to the 6th–7th century Kushan period. It depicts the Buddha in a reclining position at the moment of entering Nirvana. Carefully reconstructed from excavated fragments, it remains one of the most remarkable symbols of Tajikistan’s ancient Buddhist heritage.
Somoni Square & City Park Area
We start our tour with a visit to the impressive 165-meter-high Flagpole, one of the tallest in the world and a proud symbol of Tajikistan’s independence.
Next, we continue to the peaceful Rudaki Park, a beautiful green space in the heart of the city, ideal for walking and relaxation.
After that, we will visit the Ismoil Somoni Complex, where the monument to Ismoil Somoni stands as a symbol of Tajik statehood. The monument is 11.5 meters high, with an arch reaching 40 meters, honoring the founder of the Samanid State.
Then pass by the National Library of Tajikistan, the country’s main cultural institution dedicated to preserving national heritage. The modern building, opened in 2012, features nine floors, 15 reading halls, and over 20 departments.
Navruzgoh Race Track
Navruzgoh Park was opened in 2014 in honor of the international holiday of Navruz and is located between the Nation Palace and Navruzgoh area. Spread across about 15 hectares, the park is filled with a wide variety of trees and plants such as pine, cedar, fir, juniper, magnolia, chestnut, maple, and many others.
Despite its central location, the park offers a calm and refreshing atmosphere with plenty of greenery, fountains, and walking paths. A highlight is the beautiful waterfall called “Sharshara.” It is a perfect place for families, cycling, and relaxing walks, especially in the evening when the park becomes even more picturesque.
Kokhi Navruz
Next, we will visit Kohi Navruz, a modern complex featuring 12 uniquely designed halls, each decorated in its own distinct national style. The venue has a large capacity and can accommodate up to 3,200 guests, making it one of the city’s impressive event spaces.
After that, we continue to the Dushanbe Plaza observation deck, a 25-storey business center located on Rudaki Avenue in the heart of the capital. From the top, you can enjoy detailed insights about Dushanbe’s urban layout and admire breathtaking panoramic views of the entire city.
Independence And Freedom Monument
The Istiqlol (Independence) Monument and Istiqlol Square were officially opened on September 8, 2022. The monument rises to a total height of 121 meters, carrying strong symbolic meaning. The lower 30-meter section represents the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, while the upper 91 meters symbolize the year 1991, when the country gained independence.
The entire “Istiqlol” complex covers an area of about 11,900 square meters, with the construction site occupying 4,761 square meters. At the top stands an 8-meter titanium crown, which symbolizes statehood, independence, cultural heritage, knowledge, and the ancient history of the Tajik people.
The base of the structure is designed as an octagonal pyramid with seven entrances. The concept of the crown was inspired by the “Tree of Life,” representing growth, unity, and the continuity of national values
Restaurant Toki
Enjoy lunch at Toki Restaurant, where guests can experience authentic Tajik cuisine in a warm and traditional atmosphere. The menu features local dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, allowing tourists to truly taste the flavors of Tajik culture. It is a perfect place to relax, enjoy a hearty meal, and feel the genuine Tajik hospitality.
Mehrgon Market
Next, we will explore the traditional Mehrgon Bazaar, a vibrant and modern market in Dushanbe that opened in September 2014. Covering an impressive area of around 30,000 square meters, it is one of the largest and most colorful markets in the city.
Here, you will find a wide variety of fresh local products, spices, dried fruits, nuts, and traditional goods, all presented in a lively atmosphere that reflects everyday Tajik life.
Imam A'zam Mosque
We're thrilled to announce that our programme will be exploring the fascinating world of Islam on a few occasions! We are delighted to announce the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the largest mosque in the Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to the celebration of the 1310th anniversary of the founder and leader of the tolerant Hanafi teachings of Abu Hanifa Numon ibn Sobit. The foundation stone was laid on 5 October 2009, marking a significant moment in the history of our country. The magnificent mosque was constructed on 12 hectares of land, with the main building occupying 3 hectares. It boasts three grand entrances, welcoming worshippers with a sense of grandeur. This magnificent mosque can accommodate an incredible 133,000 worshipers at once! 43,000 of them are inside the mosque itself, while the rest can gather around it.
Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden of Dushanbe is located in the northern part of the city and covers about 40 hectares. It was established in 1933 and is one of the oldest green areas in the capital.
The main entrance is on the eastern side, leading through a central alley toward a glass greenhouse, where the garden’s walking paths begin.
Today, it is a peaceful place with diverse plants, shaded paths, and a calm natural atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and short walks away from the city noise.
