Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham to explore the tunnels, pagoda, marvel at the natural surroundings or for a meditation retreat, you will leave with a sense of peace and appreciation for the quiet, Buddhist way of life. After that, go to the famous temple. This sacred temple was built in the 14th century and has a long and colorful history to learn about. The temple grounds had a variety of stunning statues, a golden pagoda, murals, a view point, and other artwork that showcased and honored Buddhism.

Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham
Visit Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham in the evening to explore relics and traditional attractions. This 700 year old temple is unique in that you can take photos of the amazing layout of the pagoda, history, location, It is also nestled in a natural forest and lush tropical plants. Greenery that promotes tranquility too. Outside the temple you can feed fish, turtles, and ducks in the picturesque pond. Take in the scenery and tranquility of the religious buildings in the forest in this location.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Arrive at this temple around 7:30 pm. Walking around the temple, you will see golden pagodas, shrines, bells, Buddha statues, and relics, which are considered one of the most divine objects. A statue of a legendary white elephant, naga steps, and before leaving you can have a fantastic view over Chiang Mai.
Drop off your hotel
If you don't return to the hotel , I can drop you off at Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. Saturday Walking Street and Sunday Walking Street Market.

* This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
* Please dress politely before entering the temple. Make sure your shoulders are covered. (No vests, tank tops, or spaghetti straps required.) Skirts or shorts should be longer and reach at least to your knees.

“Great Two Days - Temples, Waterfalls, Cave, Mae Kampong Village & City Tour”
We customized our two days with Petch to purposely remain somewhat in the local vicinity within an hour's drive. There's a lot to explore. Petch picked us up from the airport and we started our tour immediately by visiting several temple complexes and two waterfalls. Our next day was a tour of the Chiang Mai (old city) & temples, followed by visiting Mae Kampong Village and a cave. Petch is a very consciencious and safe driver, and his vehicle (SUV) is relatively new, very clean and comfortable. Petch's english is very good, however he is a little shy at first, but once you get to know him, he begins to relax and becomes more talkative. If you're expecting someone who talks non-stop and is chatty through-out the whole day and car ride, this is NOT how Petch behaves. Petch is a licensed tour guide for the region and knows his history and culture, but you might have to initiate the questions; however when you do, the information flow freely. Petch can also advise you where to eat/drink and what he would consider safe for visitors. Enjoy your day(s) with Petch and if you want, he would be able to recommend a great Cabaret Show in town.

“Day trip to Chiang Rai temples”
The day with Petch could not have been better. He communicated well prior to the trip. His car was very comfortable and in good condition. Most of all Petch is very personable and speaks excellent English. He is knowledgeable about the temples and makes certain you have an enjoyable visit!

Discover Mae Kampong Village, which is located an hour east of Chiang Mai. To start off, go to Chamcha Market where you can buy handmade,vintage,and local food. Take a trip to the cave & soak your feet in the hot springs to relax under the trees. After that, head to the village, enjoy some coffee and local food,and then hike up to the waterfall which is surrounded by mountains & offers stunning panoramic views.
