We find ourselves in the middle of the colorful streets of the souks, where you can buy anything and everything.
We then hit the road again to discover the ancient capital Carthage. This Phoenician city, once an important trading port, was conquered by the Romans at the end of the Punic Wars. They destroyed and rebuilt Carthage, so there are quite a few Roman remains there today.
Our last stop of the day is Sidi Bou Said, the “Blue City”, located in the Bay of Tunis. Gorgeous!
In addition to its typical architecture, Sidi Bou Said is also a city of artists, which has attracted among others Flaubert, Chateaubriand, Lamartine, Colette, Simon de Beauvoir... And more recently Patrick Bruel: the Café des Délices de la chanson is located indeed here! It is of course one of the most touristy places in the city and also a totally magical place which will remain engraved in your memory for a near return to our beautiful Tunisia.
