Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour start time so we can begin promptly.
AL FAHIDI HISTORICAL NEIGHBORHOOD
After meeting at Arabian Tea House, we’ll begin our journey by walking through the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, one of Dubai’s oldest districts. As we wander its narrow lanes, you’ll discover traditional wind-tower houses, shaded courtyards, and stories that bring the city’s past to life. This charming area, filled with art galleries, cultural centers, and hidden cafés, offers the perfect introduction to Dubai’s heritage before we continue toward the bustling souks and the Creek.
DUBAI MUSEUM
Our next stop will be the Dubai Museum at Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest building in the city. While the museum is currently closed for renovation, we’ll enjoy a brief walkthrough outside for a photo stop. From here, you’ll see the impressive fort walls made of coral stone and gypsum, and I’ll share stories about its history as a defensive structure and later as a museum that chronicled Dubai’s transformation.
TEXTILE SOUQ
Our journey continues to the Textile Souq, a vibrant market filled with colorful fabrics, pashminas, and traditional garments. As we walk through its narrow lanes, you’ll see shops overflowing with silk, cotton, and embroidered textiles, along with souvenirs and handicrafts. This stop offers a perfect chance to experience Dubai’s trading culture up close, take photos of the lively atmosphere, and browse for unique items to take home.
DUBAI ABRA RIDE
Next, we’ll take a traditional abra ride across Dubai Creek — one of the most authentic experiences in the city. As we glide over the water, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Old Dubai on both sides, from the historic souks to the busy trading port. This short but memorable ride connects Bur Dubai with Deira, just as merchants and travelers have done for centuries.
SPICE SOUQ
Next, we’ll step into the Spice Souq, one of Dubai’s most aromatic and colorful markets. As we explore its narrow alleys, you’ll see stalls overflowing with exotic spices, herbs, teas, dried fruits, and traditional remedies. The vibrant displays and rich fragrances create a lively atmosphere, offering a true taste of Dubai’s trading heritage. I’ll also share tips on how locals use these spices in their daily cooking and traditions.
GOLD SOUQ
Our final stop is the Gold Souq in Deira, a dazzling market renowned for its glittering jewelry and intricate designs. Walking through the narrow lanes, you’ll be surrounded by countless shops displaying gold, silver, and precious gemstones, offering a glimpse into Dubai’s rich trading history. This is the perfect place to admire traditional craftsmanship, take photos, and perhaps pick up a special souvenir to remember your journey through Old Dubai.
