There is a reason the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the country, with over 14 million visitors each year!
On this tour we will be hiking up to Alum Cave, with breathtaking views and great photo ops all around. The hike is about 5 miles roundtrip, which will take us approximately 3.5 hours with stops and lunch. We will have lunch at Alum Cave, and then visit Kuwohi Visitor Center, which is a popular destination for scenic views on the Observation deck.

Meeting Point
Sugarland's Visitor Center
- We can meet at the Sugarland's Visitor Center, where you can leave your vehicle, and I will drive into the park. The park requires visitors to have a day-pass, or a yearly sticker, in order to park inside of the national park, which I already have. Another option is for me to pick you up at your hotel or cabin.
Alum Cave trailhead (about 35 minutes from Gatlinburg)
Hike to Alum Cave (3.5 hours roundtrip with lunch break). We gain about 1200ft in elevation from the trailhead to Alum Cave, so please keep that in mind. You will burn some calories!
Kuwohi Visitor Center (about 30 minutes from Alum Cave)
We will park in the visitor lot, where you can walk around the take photos of the breathtaking views of the Smokies. If you choose to, you may walk 0.5 miles up to the observation deck, where you will have 360 views of the Smoky Mountains, as well as the North Carolina side of the Appalachian Mountains.
Please note that Kuwohi Visitor Center closes December 1 for the season, until mid March. We will substitute Kuwohi Visitor Center with the Newfound Gap Overlook during the winter months.
Drive back to your vehicle/hotel
The drive back from Kuwohi Visitor Center is approximately 45 minutes to Sugarland's Visitor Center.

Tour Important Information
If you are staying in the Smoky Mountain region already, I will pick you up from your hotel or cabin. If you would like me to pick you up in Knoxville, there will be an extra charge, as the city is about an hour away.
Important message from the supplier
If you need to be picked up in Knoxville and would like to take any tours in the Smoky Mountains, there will be an additional fee for extra time and mileage, as Knoxville is about an hour away from the Smoky Mountains.
