The Argentine ‘asado’ (barbecue) is a longstanding local tradition and this tour lets you experience it just like a local. Explore the lively Palermo Viejo neighbourhood and purchase ingredients from the local butchers, bakeries, and wine shops; get hands-on preparing the parrilla, making chimichurri sauce, and barbecuing the perfect steak; then sit down for an asado feast, including wine, dessert, and traditional mate.

Then, you will meet your guide in this luxurious private home in the trendy neighborhood of Palermo Viejo. Here, you will learn how to light the grill and make your chimichurri before heading out to the neighborhood butcher to purchase the main cut of steak for your lunch.
Once out in the neighborhood, you will get a little bit of neighborhood history and discover how this once-sleepy residential neighborhood became one of the trendiest and liveliest neighborhoods in the city.
We stop at this picturesque and lively plaza to learn a little bit more neighborhood and Argentine history.
The plaza was turned into an urban vegetable garden by the city. It is managed by the Don Julio restaurant. All of the food generated by the garden is donated to local neighborhood kitchens. All of the neighbors, as well as the restaurant, can take their organic waste to the gargen's compost center.
We cross the street to the local butcher shop, where we pick out our main cut of steak.
We walk down this narrow street called "pasaje" and learn the history of the origins of the neighborhood and why these streets exist. There is a lot of street art along these quaint narrow streets.
We stop at a charming little wine shop and pick out the bottles to accompany our meal.
At this last stop, we pick up some freshly baked bread to go with our meal.
Return to the house to cook and enjoy the meal. We will have a "picada," and we will make a "Fernandito" to wash it down with while hearing about Italy's contribution to the local culture.
You will then help put the salad together, and we can admire and talk about all of the cuts of steak and pork that are on the grill.
We will finish with a traditional local dessert and learn our last local cultural custom of how Argentines say goodbye to friends.
