Arch of charents
While passing through the village of Voghjaberd, the architect Rafael Israelyan often noticed that a wonderful view of Mount Ararat opens from the nearby hill. And here, in 1957, Israelyan completed the structure he designed, which is called the Mount Ararat Temple. The last line of Yeghishe Charents's poem is engraved in visible large letters on the front entrance. "Go to the world; there is no white peak like Ararat, like the path of unripe glory; I love my Masis mountain." Very soon the place got its new, popular and more widespread name - The Arch of Charents. We start the tour with the viewpoint of Mount Ararat, the symbol of Armenia.
Garni temple
The temple, built in the first century and had been around for centuries, was destroyed and stood up again. It tells about pre-Christian Armenia and the Armenian people. The temple dedicated to Mithra, the God of the Sun, is the only preserved pagan temple both in Armenia and in the territory of the former USSR. The temple was destroyed by a devastating earthquake in 1679 and was restored for about 8 years, 1968-75.
Garni is not just about ancient ruins; it’s also a place where you can indulge in local flavors and experience the warmth of Armenian hospitality.
Garni gorge Symphony of stones
The Garni Gorge is protected by law and listed as a natural monument. Along the sides of the gorge are cliff walls of well-preserved basalt columns, carved out by the Goght River. This portion of the Garni Gorge is typically referred to as the "Symphony of the Stones."Symphony of Stones. It is said that this natural monument is the result of the collapse of the volcanic rocks.
This majestic natural monument isn’t only a “must see” place in Armenia, but also “must have photos in” place. So besides an excursion there you can also take a photo tour to Symphony of Stones.
Geghard Monastry
Gegahrd meaning SPEAR. is a medieval monastery being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. It is listed as a UNESCO world heritage.
While the main chapel was built in 1215, the monastery complex was founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator at the site of a sacred spring inside a cave. The name Geghard originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus at the Crucifixion, allegedly brought to Armenia by Apostle Jude, Thaddeus, the Spear is Now it is displayed in the Echmiadzin treasury.
Geghards monastery Key components include the main cathedral (Katoghike),
an adjacent narthex ,the vestry (gavit),
two main rock-cut churches, one with spring
the Proshyan family tomb,
Papak and Ruzukan’s chapel, and numerous monk cells.
Lavash baking
Among the many varieties of bread found worldwide, lavash stands out as a beloved emblem of Armenian heritage and gastronomy. This traditional, soft, and thin flatbread is a masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship, baked in a tonir—a clay oven deeply rooted in the region's history.
you will get the chance to Witness the art of traditional preparation, followed by an immediate taste of the freshest, while they are still hot.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! It was a true pleasure hosting you and specially exploring the city of Gyumri together. I’m so glad you enjoyed the visit to the Orgov Observatory—it really is a hidden gem and a one-of-a-kind experience. I always enjoy tailoring the journey to make sure everyone feels comfortable and gets to see the spots that interest them most.
