Khor Virap Monastery
Khor Virap Monastery (5th–17th Century): Located directly on the Armenian-Turkish border, this is the most iconic viewpoint for the biblical Mount Ararat. It is famously known as the place where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years before converting King Trdat III to Christianity in 301 AD.
Noravank Monastery
Situated in a narrow gorge, this monastery is renowned for its stunning, two-story architecture and red-brick design that blends seamlessly into the surrounding red cliffs.
Jermuk City and waterfall
A high-altitude spa town surrounded by forests and mountains, famous for its curative mineral water gallery, where water temperatures range from 30°C to 50°C. The 68-meter high "Mermaid’s Braids" waterfall is a key attraction.
Areni village and cave
Known as the center of Armenian winemaking, visitors can tour wineries to taste local Armenian wines. Nearby is the "Bird Cave" (Areni-1), a complex where the world’s oldest shoe (5,500+ years old) and oldest winery were discovered.

Visitors can climb down into the 6.5m deep, narrow pit where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned.
