The opening of The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route
Anually Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is open to the public in mid Spring 2017. It was open to the Alpine Route on 15h April. For now I take guests to the Alpine Route three times this year .
Yuki no Otani (The Great Valley of Snow) 19 meters
On April 22, 23 I took guests to the Alpine Route. We met them at Toyama Station at 9am and moved to Tateyama. We started at Tateyama at 10:40 to go to Kurobe Dam and returned to Tateyama. On the way at Murodo we walked on the snow to the highest point of snow, 19 meters, on April 22, 23.
On May 13 I tooke 2 guests from U.S.A to the Alpine Route. At that time, it was 16 meters high.
The snow landscape from Daikanbo
We could view the magnificient snow landscape from Daikanbo. Then we used ropeway to Kurobe dam.
Kurobeko (Lake Kurobe)
On April 23 water pooled behind the dam was covered with ice but on May 13 we couldn't see the ice.
