In Japan, we take off our shoes before we enter a house, and this custom is practiced at school as well. When students arrive at school, they take off their shoes and put on indoor shoes at the entrance before they go to their classrooms. Students have their own shoe locker in which they keep their indoor or outdoor shoes.
