Half Day Trip to Genocidal Museum and Killing Field
The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is the memorial site of the S-21 interrogation and detention center of the Khmer Rouge regime and The memorial at Choeung Ek just outside Phnom Penh was an orchard! And a Chinese cemetery prior to 1975. During the Khmer Rouge regime, it became one of the killing fields the site of the brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison. Choeung Ek is now a group of mass graves.

“A day in Phnom Penh ”
Martin speaks great English. He lined up the vehicle and driver. He wears the licensed guide uniform. He knows his way around. And is passionate about his nation’s people and history. He’s also a straight shooter and won’t lead you astray. Just say what you want and how you’d prefer to go about it and he’ll make it happen. Be careful with the heat. You think you can do more in a day. But it takes it out of you. Also, big feelings in some of the historical sights. This also takes it’s toll as you ponder humanity and the Cambodian people’s resilience.
