Wenchi Lake is a beautiful volcanic crater lake that is famed as “Africa Switzerland”, it is also home to natural forests, hot springs, and waterfalls, as well as a traditional village. there are two roads to get to Wenchi from Addis Ababa, Via Weliso and Via Ambo. Wenchi lake is located 155 km from Addis Ababa. 38 Km from Woliso or 28 KM from Ambo Total distance is similar either way.

Early morning after breakfast pick up from your hotel for the 2,5 hour (150 km) drive to the beautiful area of Wenchi.
Wenchi
Here we meet our local guide and get organized for the day. Different walks are available, from 1,5 to 5 hours. If you enjoy a horse back riding it can be arranged here too.
Monastery Island
Once at the lakeside a small boat takes us to a monastery island. Somewhere in a beautiful setting we enjoy a picnic lunch we brought from Addis Ababa.
Depart back to Addis Ababa
Latest 16.00, we depart back to Addis Ababa to drop you at your hotel around sunset.
