“An Extraordinary History Lesson”
Our party of four spent nearly four hours with Pieter B., our engaging and very, very knowledgeable guide. Pieter is passionate about the the story of Breakout 1945, and that is the recipe for an incredible tour. He brought the story to life as we followed the "bootsteps" of the German soldiers during their attempt to breakout during the Soviet siege of Budapest. Knowing our interest in contemporary Hungarian history, Pieter also welcomed our questions about Hungary's recent change in government. The tour also helped us get acquainted with Budapest's tram and bus system, as Pieter met us at our hotel and then took us up to Buda Hill by bus and back to our hotel by tram.

“A tour guide who goes above all Expectations ”
We approached Gabor through Go with Guide about a tour to Tiszadob and he was very accommodating in making it happen. He took the research that we had obtained and through his dedication enhanced it by providing resources and research on his own. He made arrangements to meet with a church official who had the baptism records of our relatives. We visited the inside of the church where our relatives worshipped. We drove through Tiszadob to see the town as it is today not much changed from years long ago. We took a tour of the local Andrássy Castle which was very interesting experience. Gabor then had us meet with a local family who had roots that matched our own. We talked for a hour and then went with them to the local cemetery to visit graves of their and possibly our families. I cannot express enough how much Gabor went over and above to make this a wonderful experience for our family. I would recommend him highly to lead any tour to search for your family roots our take a tour of Budapest.
