Light excursion in Buda Hills
Light walk including journey on chairlift and children's railway. We go up to János Hill with chairlift. Then we climb up in a 10 minutes walk to Elisabeth Lookout Tower, from where there is beautiful panorama to the city. Then we take Children’s railway (partially operated by children) to Normafa, popular walking destination, also nice view. We walk through to Széchenyi-hill. From there we go down to the city or by cogwheel railway, either by bus, either on foot, on spectacular walking path.

Meeting Point
Preferably on Nyugati Square, from where bus no. 291 starts.
- We can also meet anywhere on Jászai Mari Square or Margithíd budai hídfő (Margaret Bridge, Buda side)
Lower station of chairlift
We access lower station of chairlift with local bus.
Erzsébet Kilátó (Elisabeth Outlook Tower)
The tower is named after empress Erzsébet (Elisabeth), wife of Franz Joseph, because she visited this place. We also will have beautiful panorama to the city.
Normafa station of Children's Railway
Area of Normafa is always busy with hikers, children, dogs. We can find some buffets as well here. From here we will have a comfortable 15 minutes walk to Széchenyi Hill.
Széchenyi Hill
It is another pleasant place of Buda Hills, we can stroll a little bit around. Then we can decide if we choose cogwheel railway or bus to go dwon from the hill or we walk down on a spectacular walking path.
Ending Point
Városmajor, lower station of cogwheel railway, close to Széll Kálmán Square transport hub. Alternatively at Déli Railway station, traffic hub, depending on which way we choose to descend.

Main attraction of Buda side is the Castle district. It is full of history and national sights, such as Royal Palaces, Savoya Panorama Terrace, Mathias Fountain, Lion's Courtyard, Riding Hall, Alexander Palace, Carmelite Monastery, funicular, Tóth Árpád Promenade (form where you can see the Buda hills), Mathias Church, Fishermen's Bastion, Hotel Hilton with Dominican Courtyard, Red Hedgehog House, Maria Magdalena Tower, Ruszwurm Confectionery, National Archive, Vienna Gate, Nicholas Tower.

Walking tour on Pest side - history and art nouveau
Széchenyi and Szabadság Squares are among Pest side’s downtown most elegant part. Their history reflects the whole city’s history. In addition quite a few beautiful art nouveau buildings can be found nearby. We will enter Gresham Palace, currently member of Four Seasons hotel-chain, the most luxurious hotel of Budapest, facing Chain Bridge. We will also see the most beautiful art nouveau building of Budapest, the Postal Savings Bank. We will finish with panorama from rooftop of opposite hotel.

Highlights of Buda castle district
We start from Holy Trinity Square, in front of Mathias Church. Behind the church from Fishermen's Bastion you can admire the panorama. We proceed towards Dísz tér, Carmelite Monastery, Alexander Palace, funicular. We walk among Royal Palace buildings, another stunning view from Savoya Terrace, in front of palaces. You will hear interesting story of Mathias Fountain. We peek into Lion's Courtyard and go back on Tóth Árpád promenade, from where you can enjoy the view of Buda Hills.
