The Amazing 10 Tastings of Budapest
I invite you to a unique culinary journey in the capital city of Hungary. We may not have a world-famous cuisine like the Italians or the French, but once you taste a Hungarian meal it will stay with you forever. This tour is designed for those with an interest in history and some city highlights coupled with some of the most unforgettable snacks and bites of Hungary: langos, chimney cake, fried sausage, stuffed pancakes, pogacsa (scones) and a shot of palinka/Unicum, just to name a few.
Itinerary
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Heroes' Square / underneath archangel Gabriel
Heroes' Square
We start in Heroes' Square under archangel Gabriel with a brief introduction to Hungarian history and pogacsa, our scones. From there we walk to Vajdahunyad castle for one of the most unique architectural complexes of this part of the world. Once our hearts and minds have been filled, we stop for chimney cake and langosh.
Jewish District
We take the Millenium Underground Railway to the Jewish Quarter where we discover the beauties of the Jewish District. We stop at a small place for fried sausage and csalamade and then carry on to a typical Bistro of the quarter.
Szimpla Ruin Pub
Our last stop: the mother of all ruin pubs (Szimpla Kert) and Karavan Food Court. Here we will raise our glasses with a fiery palinka or a sweet-bitterish Unicum and learn to say "egészségünkre". With that I bid you a fond farewell.
Ending Point
Szimpla Kert

About Tour Guide Tiberiu C.
Szia! Hi! Hallo! Ceau!
My name is Tiberiu(s), or Tibi for short, and I am an IT Service Manager who found his passion in tour guiding over 5 years ago.
With late-afternoon and weekend availability (full time as of June), I am more than excited to take you on a mini-journey, including not only the main attractions of the city, but also the lesser-known ones including some tastings. I am also more than happy to adapt the tours to your needs and we may even go outside of the city, if you'd like to, since I own a car. I am also available for one or the other daytrip in or outside of Budapest, just let me know about 1-2 weeks in advance, so I can plan my schedule accordingly.
Before booking though, please contact me online in advance, just to make sure.
"In the end... we only regret the chances we didn't take" (Lewis Caroll)
I want to make memories for people from all over the world! And most important of all, I like to give them an actual taste of our city. You just can't visit Hungary and not try some of our traditional foods (not for veggies or vegans though).
Hope to meet you soon and "Viszlát", as we say in Hungarian!

“Excellent choice for a niche tour”
Tiberiu was very knowledge of the town of Szentendre and made his knowledge accessible to our group. He was very precise with his route and made the best of our limited time. Before hand he was also very helpful and communicative. I sincerely recommend Tiberiu.
